In Jirachi: Wishmaker, Butler owned a Mightyena.
Butch of Team Rocket owns a Mightyena.

- Mightyena gives obvious signals when it is preparing to attack. It starts to growl deeply and then flattens its body. This Pokémon will bite savagely with its sharply pointed fangs.

Name origin
Mightyena's name may be a combination of might and hyena. The German name starts with the word magna, which is Latin for great. The first part of the French name may come from a corruption of the word gray as Mightyena has partially gray fur.
