Maya (Japanese: マヨ Mayo) is a character of the day from Mastering Current Events!.
Maya is the granddaughter and student of McCann. Ash and his friends ran into Maya and McCann while McCann's Scizor was battling Maya's Chimecho.
Pokémon
Chimecho
Chimecho is Maya's only known Pokémon. Like her grandfather's Scizor, Maya's Chimecho also used winds to fly and was used by Maya against her grandfather in battle. Although Chimecho was powerful, it was unable to stand up to Scizor's skill in the air and was defeated, accidentally knocking Piplup out in the process.
Chimecho's only known attack is Psywave.

Trivia
- She shares her dub name with Dawn's Iberian Spanish name. Coincidentally, in the Iberian Spanish dub she was named May, which is the English name of another main character.
