This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it was released through the Parent/Child Mega Battle tournament held in May 1998. The prize was awarded to those parent and children teams who had reached a certain number of wins. The card was never released in English.

• This card is widely considered to be one of the most attractive early promos. It is considered to be one of the original "Holy Grails" of Pokémon card collecting along with other early rarities.
