Actually, even earlier than that in Argentina on May of 1999, on the channel "Magic Kids". It's worth noting because it's a cable-operator channel, that since 1995 was picked up by cable companies from all Latin America.

Pokemon 1st reached Latin America

The article implies that Club Nintendo first talked about Pokemon in 1998, however this is wrong. Club Nintendo actually covered the japanese craze for the game and G/S beta way before R/B were ever even confirmed to be localized. I don't have the magazine anymore but it must have been 1996/7.Sdp

  • I do have the magazines. Not only that, they even covered the original release in February 1996 when the game was furst shown at Shoshinkai '95. Then they forgot about the game until late '97 when in Space World '97 Nintendo announced they'd export Pokémon to the US and showed demos for Stadium, Hey you Pikachu and the GS beta. Because of that, they dedicated about half the issue to Pokémon. Veggietable 22:58, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Flags

Place your votes guys: do we keep using the current image with all flags, or do we program it to rotate the flags (same way that Arceus rotates types)? --electAbuzzzz 16:24, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

It's a good idea, but I also think that instead of going the flags should be a picture like this. --Toonamimaniacolatino 17:32, 25 October 2009 (UTC)
I kinda like the map thing too...although I don't mind the current flag image. ZestyCactus 05:03, 2 December 2009 (UTC)
Revisiting this because I'm also wondering if this image could be used as well. --ZestyCactus 22:18, 25 March 2012 (UTC)

Translation error

There's a section in the acrticle that talks about the "Elegidos Pokémon" special. However, when pointing at the text, it shows the English translation to be "Choose the Pokémon". The correct translation is "Pokémon chosen" (as if "Pokémon" is the adjective in the sentence and "chosen" is the noun, like in the terms "Pokémon Battle" or "Pokémon Gym"). Can someone correct this or teach me how to do it? Veggietable 23:02, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

I've corrected it. In the future, just edit the section and in the template {{tt}} you set the parameters like {{tt|Spanish name|Translation}} so that {{tt|Los Elegidos Pokémon|The Pokémon Chosen}} would be Los Elegidos Pokémon. --ZestyCactus 23:33, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

First Broadcast

"The Pokémon anime followed after with the first broadcast of Pokémon, ¡Yo te elijo! in Latin American Spanish on Cartoon Network Latinoamérica on September 6th, 1999."

This was actually the second broadcast. The first one was in June 14 of the same year but by a mexican TV channel "(XHGC) Canal 5". For some weird reason the Cartoon Network broadcast have more priority to the point that even Wikipedia mentions it was the first one and the Canal 5 one was after :/
