I am not sure about subsequent games in the series, but I can confirm that a Pokemon's stats (aside from HP) cannot be raised above 255 in Red/Blue Rescue Team. Stat boosters can be consumed after that point but they will have no effect. I don't know how to implement this since I don't know if it's true for the rest of the games, but the section as-is is at least partially incorrect. What about double resistance and weakness? If they stack, that means double resistance is more powerful than type-based immunity (49% vs 50%)... double weakness would be 196% or close to normal weakness. So how it works in these games? I am not sure about subsequent games in the series, but I can confirm that a Pokemon's stats (aside from HP) cannot be raised above 255 in Red/Blue Rescue Team. Stat boosters can be consumed after that point but they will have no effect.
