On April Fools' Day 2014, Google launched an event where users of their Google Maps mobile application can catch Pokémon.
Lab locations
When users start out, they will appear at a Pokémon Lab chosen for them. They can return to their home lab when they wish.

- Googleplex (California, United States)
- Nintendo HQ (Kyoto, Japan)
- Santa Cruz Island (Galápagos Islands)
- CERN particle physics laboratory (Canton of Geneva, Switzerland)
- Sydney Observatory (New South Wales, Australia)

Mew becomes available after the other 150 Pokémon are caught.
