Release information
This card was included in the English Fossil expansion as both a Holofoil and Non Holofoil card, first released in the Japanese Mystery of the Fossils expansion as only a Holofoil card. A Prerelease Holofoil print was created as a Pokémon League promo in July 1999. The US promotional print has the Starlight Holofoil, while the European print has the Cosmos Holofoil.
Trivia
This was the first Pokémon card to have a Resistance to its own type.
Origin
Prehistoric Power's Japanese name is that of Ancient Power, a move later introduced in the Generation II Pokémon games that Aerodactyl can learn. Wing Attack is also a move in the Pokémon games that Aerodactyl can learn. This card's English Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, whereas the Japanese entry comes from Pokémon Red and Green.
