It seems to have some similarity to the extinct Choiseul Pigeon. It was native to a province of the Solomon Islands which is south of Japan off the coast of New Guinea.

It's possible to find Pidgeottos below level 18

I was playing Pokemon Yellow, and when I went to Viridian Forest to train my Metapod, I encountered a wild Pidgeotto at Level 9, which should be impossible since Pidgey evolves at level 18. I see that it's already noted that Falkner's Pidgeotto is at a level that should be impossible, but should this possibility of meeting a Pidgeotto pre-level 18 also be noted? --Pie4ever0 (talk) 16:07, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

Possible Origin?

It seems to have some similarity to the extinct Choiseul Pigeon. It was native to a province of the Solomon Islands which is south of Japan off the coast of New Guinea. [[1]]
