The Rare Bone (Japanese: きちょうなホネ Valuable Bone) is a type of item introduced in Generation IV.
In the core series games

In the Generation V games, the Rare Bone can be sold to the Rare Bone maniac on Route 18 for $10000.
Effect
The Rare Bone serves no practical purpose other than to be sold.
In Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum, the Rare Bone counts as a Fossil towards Fossil count when dug up in the Underground.
