Mamoru Miyano

Mamoru Miyano (Japanese: 宮野 真守 Miyano Mamoru) is a Japanese voice actor for the Pokémon anime. Miyano joined the Pokémon cast in the Best Wishes series, where his only role was that of Ash's traveling partner, Cilan. He was born on June 8, 1983, in Saitama Prefecture, Japan.

He is a prolific voice actor from the Saitama prefecture, and has won several awards for his performances over the years, such as the "Best Voice Actor" award for his role as Light Yagami from Death Note and Setsuna F. Seiei from Mobile Suit Gundam 00 (first season) and "Best Lead Actor Award" for his role as Setsuna in the second season of Gundam 00 and Rikuson Hakugen from Kōtetsu Sangokushi.

  • In Pokémon X and Y, Youngster Keita on Route 5 is named Mamoru in the Japanese version, as a reference to Mamoru Miyano. He also uses a Pansage, the signature Pokémon of Cilan, whom Miyano voices in the Pokémon anime.
