Ancient Poni Path in the
anime
Ancient Poni Path first appeared in SM104, where Hapu was shown having a Poni daikon farm there. When Ash and his friends later passed by the farm and saw Hapu's Golurk picking up daikons, Ash tried to take a closer look, only for Hapu to have Golurk attack him and accuse him of stealing her daikons. Although Ash denied having stolen anything, Hapu refused to believe him, leaving Ash with no choice but to battle her. Despite the type disadvantage, Ash chose to use Pikachu against Golurk, having him use Iron Tail on the Automaton Pokémon's leg. However, when Pikachu attempted to repeat his move, Golurk grabbed Pikachu and slammed him into the ground, before using High Horsepower and defeating Pikachu.
Later, Nurse Joy revealed that although Hapu's parents live elsewhere, Hapu herself has refused to leave the farm.
In SM105, Ash went to Hapu's house to challenge her to another battle, only to find out she wasn't home. From the bypassing Nurse Joy, he learned that Hapu had gone to the Ruins of Hope.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga
Ancient Poni Path first appeared in PASM23. Sun and Hapu passed by there while on their way to Vast Poni Canyon. As they traveled, a wild Crabominable that Hapu defeated at the Seafolk Village followed them in hopes that Hapu would allow it to join her team. As she already had a team of Pokémon she was raising, Hapu rejected Crabominable's request and suggested it join Sun instead, which it reluctantly agreed to.
Trivia
- If the player talks to the Sudowoodo in Hapu's house, it will exclaim "Lies!" This is a mistranslation, as in the Japanese version, the first part of its Japanese name (Usokkie), "Uso", which can be translated as "lie".
