Obtaining Q
There are only two ways to obtain a Q; by evolving a 44Hy or trading a Charizard 'M from the Red/Blue versions. It is easier to evolve a 44Hy since Charizard 'M is hard to obtain. Q cannot be seen in the Menu or caught by directly using the Mew Glitch. Because of this, Q is one of the few Glitch Pokémon that cannot be caught by directly using the Mew glitch (Not counting the numerous Glitch Pokémon that can be caught only with Gameshark)

In the party
Whenever Q is the first Pokémon in the party, all of the Pokémon below it will be invisible. Your party will now then be unable to heal at any Pokémon Center. The only way to heal them is to use items such as Revive. If Q is moved to the bottom of your party, all other Pokémon will once again be able to be healed at a Pokémon Center, but once Q faints, it can only be healed with a revive or similar item.
If Pikachu is below Q as well, he will vanish (the one seen following the player). Place Q as last in the party. All the Pokémon above will be visible again.
Duplication trick
Due to Q's unusual behavior, it and its Red/Blue equivalent Charizard 'M are the only Pokémon that enable a player to a unique trick, often called the "Q trick"[1]. It involves depositing Q and other Pokémon into Bill's PC, and then when they are retrieved, the Pokémon's attacks and stats will become mixed up.
In Pokémon Gold
When viewing Q in Pokémon Gold, it will appear as ????? as the number #255.
