I do not know about anyone else but I looked at the sprites and saw that the Gold & Silver normal sprites are a pink colour, then in Crystal it turns purple; this colour continues until Platinum, then in HeartGold & SoulSilver it has turned pink again. As Granbull (and Snubull) are Fairy (typed) dogs, is it possible that they're based on the Cu Sith, or Dog Fairy? Colour change

Highest attack of all non-legendary fairy types
