Lieutenant Hide Yoshida (Japanese: ヨシダ警部補 Assistant Inspector Yoshida) is one of the characters of Detective Pikachu. He is a police lieutenant who investigated the death of Harry Goodman. He is portrayed by Ken Watanabe.

In the movie

Lt. Yoshida first met Harry's son Tim in Ryme City to tell him about his father's death and to give him the keys to his father's house. He appeared to have worked closely with Harry and informed Tim that his father cared a lot for him.

Later, when Tim returned to the police station to tell Yoshida that his father was still alive, Yoshida refused to believe him. To prove Harry's death, he showed Tim the footage of the car crash purported to have killed him.

Yoshida was again seen during the Ryme City Pokémon parade, where he was merged with his Snubbull when the R substance was released in the city.

Lt. Yoshida was introduced as a Full Art Supporter card in the Pokémon Trading Card Game in the Japanese Great Detective Pikachu subset. It forces the opponent to reveal their hand before the player draws two cards. This card has not yet been released in English.
