| Mew is a minor recurring Pokémon character in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. Ever since Goh spotted Mew, he has vowed to catch Mew as one of his Pokémon. Goh originally intended to catch Mew as his first Pokémon, but after meeting Scorbunny, he changed his mind and said that he would catch Mew last.

| ===History===
| |
| ====Pre-series====
| |
| Mew debuted in Enter Pikachu!, where it was battling a wild Nidoking. The battle between the two Pokémon was witnessed by Goh and later Chloe. The Nidoking was desperately trying to land a hit on Mew by using Earth Power followed by a Sludge Wave and Fire Blast, but Mew easily dodged the attacks by teleport away and fired back Nidoking's moves, defeating it. After that, it giggled and flew away. Goh and Chloe pursued Mew, but shortly lost track of Mew. They came across a Magmortar which turned out to be Mew, and as the two kids chased Mew again, it Transform into a Tauros and then into a Lapras and swam away. While Goh and Chloe were looking for Mew, it saved a baby Kangaskhan from falling into a river and then flew away. Goh told Professor Oak about the Pokémon that he saw, which the professor responded to by saying that he must have seen the Mythical Pokémon Mew. Since that day, Goh swore to catch Mew when he would become a Pokémon Trainer.
| |
| | |
| ====Pokémon Journeys: The Series====
| |
| Mew reappeared in Dreams Are Made of These!, where it was disguised as a Lugia for the majority of the episode. It attacked Team Rocket by using Aeroblast on them, and then brought the cage containing Ash's Pikachu, Goh's Raboot and Chloe's Yamper to safety. At the end of the episode, it transformed back into a Mew.
| |
| | |
| Mew appeared in a flashback in Mind-Boggling Dynamax!, when Goh explained to Scorbunny that he wouldn't catch it because he wanted to catch Mew first, much to Scorbunny's disappointment. Goh later changed his mind about Mew after Scorbunny helped it save a train from running into a Gigantamax Snorlax.
| |
| | |
| In Working My Way Back To Mew!, Mew was mentioned by Goh when Chloe asked him why he didn't make Mew his first capture. Gosh explained that he wants to catch every Pokémon there is and would work his way back to Mew.
| |
| | |
| Mew appeared in another flashback in Time After Time!, where it was being chased by Goh and another boy named Horace (who called Mew "Celebi"). Both of them jumped into the air to catch Mew, but missed and ended up bumping into each other instead. However, it turned out that this Pokémon was not actually Mew, but a Misdreavus pretending to be one. Goh asked Horace why he called "Mew" a Celebi, while Horace pointed out that he mistook "Celebi" for a Mew.
| |
| | |
| Mew made a cameo appearance in That New Old Gang of Mine, where it appeared as a fantasy when Goh told Ash's old classmates about his dream.
| |
| | |
| Mew made another cameo appearance in Getting More Than You Battled For!, when Professor Cerise explained to Ash and Goh that it contained the DNA of every Pokémon.

| ==In the manga==
| |
| Mew appeared in JNM02, playing the same role as it did in Mind Boggling Dynamax. It also appeared in JNM15.
| |
| | |
| ==Personality and characteristics==
| |
| Not much is known about Mew's personality, as it rarely has major roles in Pokémon Journeys: The Series. It appears to have a playful nature, giggling on occasions such as when it defeated Nidoking with Fire Blast. Mew enjoys Transform other Pokémon, such as when it repeatedly transformed when Goh and Chloe chased it in their childhood. Mew is a caring Pokémon, as shown in Enter Pikachu! where it saved a baby Kangaskhan from falling into the river and in Dreams Are Made of These! where it saved Ash's Pikachu, Goh's Raboot and Chloe's Yamper from Team Rocket.
