Goh's Butterfree (Japanese: ゴウのバタフリー Go's Butterfree) is the sixth Pokémon that Goh caught in the Kanto region, and his seventh overall.
In the anime
History
Butterfree debuted in Working My Way Back to Mew!, where he was the sixth Bug-type Pokémon native to the Kanto region that Goh caught. Afterwards, he was seen with all of his other Pokémon before Professor Cerise suggested leaving it at his lab.
In A Snow Day for Searching!, Goh used Butterfree alongside some of his other Bug Pokémon to find the bone of a wild Cubone, which he later caught.
During a food shortage in Panic in the Park!, Butterfree joined a group of Goh's Bug-type Pokémon to rebel and target Darmanitan, Grimer, Ekans, and Stantler. When Golurk loses control, the conflict is dropped as Butterfree helps with the protection of Goh’s three Cascoon.
In Big Brother to the Rescue!, Goh used Butterfree, along with other Pokémon in the park, to create a fountain so that Grimer and Froakie could live in Cerise Laboratory without dirtying the stream.
Personality and characteristics
Butterfree is shown to be calm. He also is shown to be friendly and listen to its trainer as seen in A Snow Day for Searching!, when Cubone's bone was missing, Goh sent him out to search for it.
