Tandemaus (Japanese: ワッカネズミ Wakkanezumi) is a Normal-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.
It evolves into Maushold starting at level 25. It will evolve on-screen if it has participated in the battle; otherwise, it can randomly evolve after a level-up in your party without any indication that it has. It will evolve into either its Family of Three form or Family of Four form depending on an internal value. Since this internal value cannot be influenced or seen by the player, what a given Tandemaus will evolve into is essentially random, with a 1-in-25 chance of evolving into its Family of Three form.
Biology
Tandemaus is a Pokémon which is comprised of two separate mouse-like rodent Pokémon, which work together as one. Each one is small, white and bipedal and has a round spherical head with large ears and stubby limbs with large paws. They have two black beady eyes, one long tail which curls up at the end and one black nose with whiskers each. One Tandemaus has a light-gray patch of fur surrounding their chest which resembles a shirt, while the other has a light-gray patch of fur surrounding their legs, which resembles a pair of pants.
The pair of Tandemaus sticks together no matter what. Exhibiting great teamwork, they use their incisors to cut pieces out of material that might be useful for a nest, then they make off with it. They split any food they find exactly in half and then eat it together.
Tandemaus and its evolved form, Maushold, are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Population Bomb.
