The series is available with Japanese, English, and Korean audio and German, Spanish, French, Italian, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese subtitles. The Thai dub premiered weekly beginning on September 2, 2020 on TrueID.
On October 23, 2020, a special episode titled The Gathering of Stars based on the Pokémon Sword and Shield Expansion Pass was announced. It was made available on November 5, 2020 starting at 11:00 PM JST (2:00 PM UTC).
Blurb
Galar is a region where Pokémon battles have developed into a cultural sensation. Over the span of seven episodes, “Pokémon: Twilight Wings” will show in detail the dreams of Galar’s residents, the realities they face, the challenges they must overcome and the conflicts they must resolve. In addition to these new stories, fans can expect to see a variety of Pokémon originally discovered in the Galar region appearing in the capsule series.
Plot
Each episode focuses on a different character and is connected by a Cabbie and his Flying Taxi. John, a boy who has been in the hospital since childhood, is a fan of Champion Leon and dreams of watching him battle live. The story begins when John is visited by Chairman Rose.
The plot of the series takes place right before the events of Pokémon Sword and Shield, ending with Leon's exhibition match against Raihan seen during the game's introduction.[citation needed]

Trivia
- This miniseries serves as a prequel to the main story of Pokémon Sword and Shield. Although some events look into the future (for example, Hop's Dubwool, which at the time of the series still has not evolved from a Wooloo).
- Much like in Pokémon Origins, Pokémon Evolutions and Pokémon Generations, all Pokémon featured in Pokémon: Twilight Wings make realistic animal noises rather than saying their name, like in the main series anime.
- Most episodes involve the Taxi Driver and his Corviknight as recurring characters, befitting the series' name and their involvements in it.
