What's with Aipoms?

I mean, why do lots of people use Aipoms? I mean, I don't second glance them, but could someone tell me why they're great.

yes but it was used by Ash before Diamond and Pearl, and seemed to be used quite frequently. I've talked to a bunch of people who only caught aipom because Ash had one earlier Darth Cookie Monster

I was the one that asked the question. I should really create a profile, but too bad that I don't know how... -_-

Anyway, what I meant was that I saw Ash use it, my friend uses one, and that one girl that I saw on Pokemon Trozi (I think) had one. --Nidokingdood
