Ancient Poni Path first appeared in That's Some Spicy Island Research!, where Hapu was shown having a Poni radish farm there. When Ash and his classmates later passed by the farm and saw Hapu's Golurk picking up radishes, Ash tried to take a closer look, only for Hapu to have Golurk attack him and accuse him of stealing her radishes. Although Ash denied having stolen anything, Hapu refused to believe him, leaving Ash with no choice but to battle her. Despite the type disadvantage, Ash chose to use Pikachu against Golurk, having him use Iron Tail on the Automaton Pokémon's leg. However, when Pikachu attempted to repeat his move, Golurk grabbed Pikachu and slammed him into the ground, before using High Horsepower and defeating Pikachu.
Later, Nurse Joy revealed that although Hapu's parents live elsewhere, Hapu herself has refused to leave the farm.
In Showdown on Poni Island!, Ash went to Hapu's house to challenge her to another battle, only to find out she wasn't home. From the bypassing Nurse Joy, he learned that Hapu had gone to the Ruins of Hope.
In Run, Heroes, Run!, Mallow, Lillie, and Sophocles visited Hapu's farm to have her taste test Mallow's new radish cookings.
In Memories in the Mist!, Ash and his classmates helped Hapu at her farm chores, until the area was unexpectedly covered in Tapu Fini's mist, causing Ash, Mallow, and Lillie to get separated from the others until the mist was lifted.
