Self-Sowing Seeds
Flavor text
Generation IX
Turns the ground into Grassy Terrain when the Pokémon is hit by an attack.

Seed Sower (Japanese: こぼれダネ Self-Sowing Seeds) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of Arboliva.

Effect

In battle

When a Pokémon with Seed Sower is hit by a damaging move, it summons Grassy Terrain for five turns, unless Grassy Terrain is already present. This can be extended to eight turns if the Pokémon is holding a Terrain Extender. If hit by a multistrike move, the first strike will activate it.

Seed Sower activates before the effect of the moves Steel Roller and Ice Spinner is triggered, thus removing the grassy terrain.

Outside of battle

Seed Sower has no effect outside of battle.
