*The infant inside Rabsca's ball is present in Rabsca's in-game model, with a model of its own. It resembles a basic insect larva, distinct from Rellor.<ref> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSHTyxLKUmQ</ref>

===Origin===
===Origin===
Rabsca appears to be based on a {{wp|Scarabaeidae|scarab beetle}}, particularly resembling the {{wp|Scarabaeus_sacer|sacred scarab}}. The females are known to lay one large egg inside a dung ball which the larva then feeds on. It may also be based on {{wp|Khepri}}, an Egyptian scarab-faced god who represents the rising or morning sun, and by extension, also creation and the renewal of life.
Rabsca appears to be based on a {{wp|Scarabaeidae|scarab beetle}}, particularly resembling the {{wp|Scarabaeus sacer|sacred scarab}}. It may also be based on {{wp|Khepri}}, an Egyptian scarab-faced god who represents the rising or morning sun, and by extension, creation and the renewal of life. This seems to be represented by Rabsca learning {{m|Revival Blessing}}.

The grey moustache and hair Rabsca grows makes it resemble an old man, which invokes the idea of a {{wp|monk}} or {{wp|guru}} who has achieved {{wp|enlightenment (spiritual)|enlightenment}} through lifelong training and {{wp|meditation}} (which can even be done upside-down). The white star on Rabsca's forehead resembles an {{wp|Urna}}.

According to the Pokédex, Rabsca's ball contains an infant — this appears to be a reference to dung beetles and some scarab beetles laying their eggs in a ball of dung to incubate them and feed the hatching larva. The ball being a red, translucent bubble suggests it is meant to be an {{wp|amniotic sac}}, a thin membrane that holds a foetus while it develops in the {{wp|uterus|womb}}.

====Name origin====
====Name origin====
Rabsca may be a transposition of ''scarab''; it may also derive from ''rapscallion''.
Rabsca may be derived from ''scarab'' with the syllables transposed. It may also pull from ''{{wp|Ra}}'', the Egyptian sun god sometimes associated with scarabs.

Berakasu may be the word スカラベ sukarabe (scarab) backwards.
Beracas may be derived from スカラベ ''sukarabe'' (scarab) spelled in reverse.

Rabsca (Japanese: ベラカス Beracas) is a dual-type Bug/Psychic Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.

It evolves from Rellor when leveled up while outside of its Poké Ball after the player walks 1000 steps using the Let's Go! feature.[1][2]

Biology

Rabsca is a teal, metallic, beetle-like Pokémon that perpetually floats upside down in the air. Its face is red, with a diamond-shaped nose, a white four-pointed star on its forehead, and long, prominent white hairs that extend past its body, resembling eyebrows and a mustache; the latter also somewhat resembles wings. Its eyes have pink sclerae and white pupils shaped like four-pointed stars, but they are usually closed. It has four limbs, each with three spike-like protruberances. It has four horn-like protrusions on its head, a zigzag pattern on its abdomen, and an elaborate pattern of red stripes on its back.

Rabsca's hind legs hold a ball over its body. The double-layer ball is reddish pink with purple cloud-like masses surrounding it, and it can glow brightly, revealing a cocoon-like infant sleeping inside. Rabsca gently rolls the ball with its legs so that the infant inside can sleep comfortably. A hypothesis posits that the infant is actually Rabsca's true body, since the body that rolls the ball around barely moves. In Generation IX, Speed Swap is its signature move.

Trivia

  • The infant inside Rabsca's ball is present in Rabsca's in-game model, with a model of its own. It resembles a basic insect larva, distinct from Rellor.[3]

Origin

Rabsca appears to be based on a scarab beetle, particularly resembling the sacred scarab. It may also be based on Khepri, an Egyptian scarab-faced god who represents the rising or morning sun, and by extension, creation and the renewal of life. This seems to be represented by Rabsca learning Revival Blessing.

The grey moustache and hair Rabsca grows makes it resemble an old man, which invokes the idea of a monk or guru who has achieved enlightenment through lifelong training and meditation (which can even be done upside-down). The white star on Rabsca's forehead resembles an Urna.

According to the Pokédex, Rabsca's ball contains an infant — this appears to be a reference to dung beetles and some scarab beetles laying their eggs in a ball of dung to incubate them and feed the hatching larva. The ball being a red, translucent bubble suggests it is meant to be an amniotic sac, a thin membrane that holds a foetus while it develops in the womb.

Name origin

Rabsca may be derived from scarab with the syllables transposed. It may also pull from Ra, the Egyptian sun god sometimes associated with scarabs.

Beracas may be derived from スカラベ sukarabe (scarab) spelled in reverse.
