Sayer

Sayer (Japanese: 親方 the Master) is a recurring character in the Pokémon anime. He is a resident of Twinleaf Town.

History

Sayer first appeared in Strategy Begins at Home!, where he served as the manager of the Twinleaf Festival. He became increasingly frustrated by Izzy and Cara's indecisiveness, and often required Johanna's input to make a final decision. He hired Team Rocket to fish for Goldeen so that they could be used for a fishing game during the festival. However, Sayer was disappointed by their efforts and eventual disappearance in A Faux Oak Finish!.

In Historical Mystery Tour!, Sayer had Brock run one of his booths after one of the stallholders fell ill. He then served as the referee for the Festival Battle Challenge in Challenging a Towering Figure!.

Character

Sayer was usually depicted as being under a lot of stress, though he was impressed with Team Rocket's successful selling of Octillery snacks, since they made good profits. He even hoped to hire the trio for the following year's festival.
