Blast Burn inflicts damage and thaws any frozen enemies. If the move hits at least one target successfully, the user is inflicted with the {{DL|Status condition (Mystery Dungeon)|recoil}} status condition ({{DL|Status condition (Mystery Dungeon)|Paused}} prior to Gates to Infinity) for 1 turn. This status prevents the user from taking any actions. This move is affected by the {{DL|Status condition (Mystery Dungeon)|Muzzled}} status condition (prior to Gates to Infinity). | |||

Blast Burn (Japanese: ブラストバーン Blast Burn) is a damage-dealing Fire-type move introduced in Generation III. Prior to Generation IX, only Fire-type fully evolved first partner Pokémon could learn this move. It is TM153 in Generation IX.
Effect
Blast Burn inflicts damage and then forces the user to recharge during the next turn. Unless this attack misses, the user will always have to recharge.
Blast Burn can be used as the second move of a Pokémon Contest combination, with the user gaining 4 bonus appeal points if Sunny Day was used in the previous turn.

- DPPtBDSP: an elderly man on Route 228.
- HGSS: an elderly man in the Move Deleter/Move Reminder's house in Blackthorn City.
- BW: a Roughneck in a house on Route 13.

- XY: a man in the southwestern house in Snowbelle City.
- ORAS: a man in the southeast of Mauville City's first floor.
- SMUSUM: a man on the second level of Hau'oli City's mall.
- SwSh: a man in a park in Wyndon.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series
Blast Burn inflicts damage and thaws any frozen enemies. If the move hits at least one target successfully, the user is inflicted with the recoil status condition (Paused prior to Gates to Infinity) for 1 turn. This status prevents the user from taking any actions. This move is affected by the Muzzled status condition (prior to Gates to Infinity).
Since Blast Burn is exclusively a tutor move in main series, it is taught differently in Mystery Dungeon:
- In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Red Rescue Team and Blue Rescue Team, Charizard will attempt to learn Blast Burn at level 99 if it has at least 333 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after reaching level 99, Blast Burn can be relearned at the Gulpin Link Shop.
- In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time, Darkness, and Sky, an eligible Pokémon will attempt to learn Blast Burn at level 72 if it has at least 300 IQ points. If this requirement is not met until after level 72, Blast Burn can be relearned at Electivire Link Shop.
- In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity, Tepig can be taught Blast Burn via special TM available once Pokémon Paradise reaches Perfect Rank.
- In Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon, the move can be taught at Hawlucha's Slam School by paying 11,000
- In Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX, the move can be taught at Gulpin Link Shop by paying 11,000 after completing the main story.

Super Smash Bros. series
In Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U, Blast Burn is a custom variant of Charizard's Flare Blitz. When used, Charizard will briefly charge up before rushing at the opponent. When the move makes contact, it creates an explosion that sends the opponent flying, and Charizard takes recoil damage. Compared to Flare Blitz, Blast Burn is much more powerful, but the recoil damage is higher and the move travels slowly for a short distance.
Pokémon GO
In Pokémon GO, Blast Burn is a Charged Attack that has been available since May 19, 2018.
