Whenever Bulbasaur and Heracross were close enough to each other, Heracross would try to lick the sap from Bulbasaur's bulb, in which Bulbasaur would then try to stop it using its Vine Whip. In the Johto League Silver Conference, Ash used it against Gary's Blastoise. Heracross lost after one quick launch of Blastoise's Hydro Pump.
