Tauros (Japanese: ケンタロス Kentauros, German: Tauros, French: Tauros) is a Normal-type Pokémon.
Pokédex entries
- Pokémon Gold
- They fight each other by locking horns. The herd's protector takes pride in its battle-scarred horns.
- Pokémon Emerald
- It is not satisfied unless it is rampaging at all times. If there is no opponent for Tauros to battle, it will charge at thick trees and knock them down to calm itself.
Name origin
Tauros's name is an abbreviation of its Japanese name, Kentauros, which is comes from Greek Κένταυρος, Centaur. It could also be a misspelling of Centaurus.
It is worth noting that taurus, Latin for bull, is also the name of another constellation, Taurus.
It may just be simply based on a bull.
