The Game Boy Advance Wireless Adapter is an accessory that connects to the top of any GBA-compatible device (except the Game Boy Micro) where the GBA Link Cable would normally go. It allows for wireless communication between two or more systems, in a way similar to the Link Cable and DS Wi-Fi features. It was packaged with Pokémon LeafGreen and FireRed, but was also compatible with Pokémon Emerald and numerous other GBA titles.
The GBA Wireless Adapter wasn't successful as much as it could have been because it was wasn't compatible with every link-enabled game, giving it a limited library and because it was released towards the end of the GBA's lifespan. Since the Game Boy Micro had a different port for the link cable, a Game Boy Micro-compatible wireless adapter was released.
