Ash caught Gliscor as a Gligar in Riding the Winds of Change!, as it, along with many other Gligar and a Gliscor, had become trapped in a city after being blown there by a violent windstorm. The tall buildings blocked Gliscor's attempts at using sonar to navigate out of the city and only served to attract more Gligar, and the Pokémon soon formed a pack. In Chim - Charred!, after a brief talk and recap, Ash and Paul decide to have a battle, and Gligar volunteers to be Ash's first Pokémon. However, Gligar's sheer determination came to a screeching halt when Paul sent out his first Pokémon: the Gliscor leader from Gligar's former pack. Initially intimidated, Gligar pulled itself together and went in for an X-Scissor, but Gliscor put the breaks on Gligar with a Knock Off. Gligar recovered and used Sand Attack, but Gliscor, unaffected, flew up and prepared a Guillotine attack. Gligar attempted to counter Gliscor with Steel Wing, but Gliscor's attack prevailed and defeated Gligar. Initially sad, Gligar becomes elated after being congratulated for the effort by Ash and the rest of his Pokémon.
| |||
In Fighting Fear with Fear!, Ash decided to start training Gligar, but this was troublesome as Gligar, despite being eager to impress Ash, had developed a fear of battling following its loss to Gliscor. However, when Gligar and Ash were kidnapped by Team Rocket, Gligar showed it was determined to conquer its fears by perfecting X-Scissor. Later, to save Ash from a fall, it used the Razor Fang Ash received from Gary (after Gligar had a practice battle with his Gary) to evolve into Gliscor. It appeared to have kept its personality traits even after Evolution, as it still winks, sticks its tongue out, and cries when scolded by Ash.
Since evolving, Gliscor started to be used in more battles. In Aiding the Enemy, Gliscor was used as a sparring partner by Paul to help illustrate how Grotle could deal with his reduced speed. In Barry's Busting Out All Over!, Gliscor battled Barry's Roserade, and after a long exchange of Poison Jab and X-Scissor attacks, the battle ended in a draw. In A Breed Stampede!, Gliscor learned Fire Fang after being hit by an Ice Shard from Dawn, and is revealed to have learned Screech some time off-screen.
Its first Gym Battle was against Byron in Dealing With Defensive Types!; Ash sent it out against Byron. It initially struggled as its Steel Wing and Fire Fang attacks were countered by Bastiodon's Iron Defense and Flash Cannon, respectively. Although it was able to dodge Bastiodon's first Iron Head, it was hit by two more in succession. However, Gliscor started to make a comeback as it cleverly spread its wings to dodge Flash Cannon before landing on Bastiodon's back and successfully landing two Fire Fangs. It was then shaken off but averted Bastiodon's Flash Cannon by tripping it with its tail. After another Iron Head overpowered Gliscor's X-Scissor, it hid behind a rock, though Bastiodon smashed it with another Iron Head. However, Gliscor used this opportunity to make an ambush from above, though it was forced to dodge instead when Bastiodon launched a Flash Cannon. Gliscor then used Sand Attack, leaving Bastiodon vulnerable to another Fire Fang, which was enough to knock it out and thus win the match for Ash and earn him the Mine.
| |||
In Sliding Into Seventh!, it was Ash's third Pokémon in his Gym Battle against Candice, where it went up against her Snover. After dodging her Razor Leaf, it hit her with a super-effective Fire Fang before hitting her with its tail. It was then hit with a super-effective Ice Beam, but despite the major damage this caused, it was able to dodge a second one. Gliscor then went in for a Fire Fang, but Snover stopped it in its tracks with Bullet Seed and finished it off with Icy Wind.
In Pedal to the Mettle!, Gliscor battled | In Pedal to the Mettle!, Gliscor battled Paul's Torterra in Ash's Full Battle against Paul. It first used Sand Attack to blind Torterra, which caused its Giga Drain to miss, before hitting it with an X-Scissor. Torterra then became immobilized after its Frenzy Plant missed, and from that point on, Gliscor was able to gain the upper hand by landing two super-effective hits with Fire Fang and X-Scissor. However, after Gliscor landed a Steel Wing, Torterra regained mobility and trapped Gliscor with Crunch, leaving it vulnerable to Giga Drain, which sapped Gliscor of its energy while at the same time healing Torterra. Although Gliscor managed to escape Fire Fang, it had taken considerable damage, so Ash recalled it. It was sent out against Torterra again later on, where it was defeated after being hit with Frenzy Plant.

Later, it helped rescue Pikachu from TRT by obscuring their escape with Sand Attack, before blasting them off with X-Scissor.
| |||
In Mastering Current Events!, Gliscor had an Air Battle with the Air Battle Master, McCann, and his Scizor. However, Gliscor was at a complete disadvantage; it could not make turns and kept crashing into rocks, and it was unable to land or dodge any attacks from Scizor, so it lost badly. After training to read the wind with Ash the following night, they challenged McCann and Scizor to a rematch to assess how much Gliscor had improved. Gliscor did much better this time, being able to read the wind and stop crashing into rocks, and it also managed to dodge some of Scizor's attacks and land its own. It even learned Giga Impact, but despite this vast improvement, Gliscor lost again. However, McCann revealed that he had become interested in training Gliscor due to how good of an Air Battler it was able to become in just one night, so Ash decided to leave Gliscor with him for further training. It then returned to Ash's party in Working on a Right Move! for the Full Battle against Paul in the Lily of the Valley Conference.
| |||
It was seen training alongside Ash for his upcoming battle against Paul in Familiarity Breeds Strategy!, where it was revealed to have grown significantly during its time with McCann. It was also shown to have perfected Giga Impact in a practice match with Dawn's Mamoswine. In A Real Rival Rouser!, it battled Paul's Ninjask and was shown to have learned Stone Edge while training with McCann. Unfortunately, it was not enough to defeat Ninjask, who was too fast for Gliscor to land Stone Edge and Fire Fang, as well as dodge its onslaught of Fury Cutters. After crashing into the ground and subsequently getting poisoned by Paul's Drapion's Toxic Spikes, Ash recalled Gliscor.
==Moves used== | He sent it out again against Drapion later in the battle, and McCann's training began to show; it dodged Pin Missile and used Stone Edge against Drapion's Cross Poison, which created a huge smoke cloud that Gliscor cleverly used to obscure itself and thus leave Drapion vulnerable to its Giga Impact. Gliscor then used the recoil to distance itself from Drapion, thus keeping it from taking advantage of the move's immobilization effect. Drapion used Pin Missile again, but Gliscor bravely flew into it with an X-Scissor only to get hit at the last second. However, Gliscor recovered and dodged Drapion's Cross Poison before defeating it by burning it with a Fire Fang. It continued battling against Paul's Electivire. Still, despite having the type advantage, Gliscor had taken a lot of damage from battling Ninjask and Drapion, so it was defeated after getting hit by pieces of terrain launched by Electivire's Thunder, followed by a powerful Brick Break after Electivire blocked its Giga Impact and trapped it with its tails.

| |||
Gliscor was one of the most emotional Pokémon Ash owned. As a Gligar, it was a crybaby, tearing up when upset at failing or being yelled at by Ash, especially when it was afraid, as shown in Chim - Charred! and Fighting Fear with Fear!. It had a big fear of battling other Pokémon and was afraid of high heights, despite being a Flying. Gligar had a habit of sticking out its tongue and winking when appearing. It also tended to crash land on top of Ash due to its inability to glide properly or would land on him for comfort. It would also try very hard to earn Ash's approval and attention. Gligar's Evolution into Gliscor saw a noticeable confidence boost as it learned to overcome most of its fears, especially its fear of facing other Pokémon. Despite its Evolution, it still kept most of its personality. It remained loyal to him and was more than willing to try to prove itself strong for its Trainer and itself.
Gliscor also became a scout with Staraptor as they would look for lost parties or TRT. Since being left at Professor Oak's lab, Gliscor became friends with Ash's Noctowl and Leavanny, as seen in Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!, where they were relaxing in a tree together.

History
Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl
Ash caught Gliscor as a Gligar in Riding the Winds of Change!, as it, along with many other Gligar and a Gliscor, had become trapped in a city after being blown there by a violent windstorm. The tall buildings blocked Gliscor's attempts at using sonar to navigate out of the city and only served to attract more Gligar, and the Pokémon soon formed a pack. The pack survived by picking fruit from trees and stealing food from humans. After Ash and his friends helped the pack, Gligar decided to travel with Ash, allowing him to capture it.
In The Bells are Singing!, Gligar was practicing gliding with Ash, but it made a wrong turn and accidentally crashed into a boulder. Shortly afterward, it started being clingy with Ash, making him recall it. Later, Gligar was used against Dawn's Buneary to show Francesca how Pokémon battles work.
Later, to save Ash from a fall, it used the Razor Fang Ash received from Gary (after Gligar had a practice battle with his Umbreon) to evolve into Gliscor. It appeared to have kept its personality traits even after Evolution, as it still winks, sticks its tongue out, and cries when scolded by Ash.
Since evolving, Gliscor started to be used in more battles. In Aiding the Enemy, Gliscor was used as a sparring partner by Torterra to help illustrate how Grotle could deal with his reduced speed. In Barry's Busting Out All Over!, Gliscor battled Barry's Roserade, and after a long exchange of Poison Jab and X-Scissor attacks, the battle ended in a draw. In A Breed Stampede!, Gliscor learned Fire Fang after being hit by an Ice Shard from Piloswine, and is revealed to have learned Screech some time off-screen.
Its first Gym Battle was against Byron in Dealing With Defensive Types!; Ash sent it out against Bastiodon. Gliscor then used Sand Attack, leaving Bastiodon vulnerable to another Fire Fang, which was enough to knock it out and thus win the match for Ash and earn him the Mine Badge.
In Pedal to the Mettle!, Gliscor battled Paul's Torterra in Ash's Full Battle against Paul.
In Uncrushing Defeat!, Gliscor, along with the rest of Ash's Sinnoh team, was under the care of Nurse Joy in the Lake Acuity Pokémon Center, suffering bodily repercussions from the rough Full Battle loss against Paul. Later, it helped rescue Pikachu from Team Rocket by obscuring their escape with Sand Attack, before blasting them off with X-Scissor.
He sent it out again against Drapion later in the battle, and McCann's training began to show; it dodged Pin Missile and used Stone Edge against Drapion's Cross Poison, which created a huge smoke cloud that Gliscor cleverly used to obscure itself and thus leave Drapion vulnerable to its Giga Impact.
Gliscor was sent to Professor Oak's Laboratory after the Lily of the Valley Conference.
Pokémon the Series: Black & White
Gliscor was reunited with Ash in The Dream Continues!, where it and the rest of Ash's Pokémon posed in a group photo with him.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series
Gliscor, along with the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab, reunited with Ash in Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!. During the visit, it was seen relaxing with Noctowl and Leavanny and later watched the battle between Ash and Paul. Before Ash left, it posed with the rest of Ash's Pokémon in a group photo with him.
From Battling as Hard as Stone! onwards, Gliscor watched Ash's Masters Eight Tournament matches against Steven, Cynthia, and Leon. In Partners in Time!, Gliscor appeared as a vision to Pikachu during his battle against Leon's Charizard. After Ash won the battle, Gliscor joined the rest of Ash's Pokémon at the lab in celebrating their Trainer's victory.
In Heroes Unite!, Gliscor, along with the rest of the Pokémon at the lab, welcomed Ash back to Pallet Town after his victory over Leon.

Gliscor was one of the most emotional Pokémon Ash owned. As a Gligar, it was a crybaby, tearing up when upset at failing or being yelled at by Ash, especially when it was afraid, as shown in Chim - Charred! and Fighting Fear with Fear!. It had a big fear of battling other Pokémon and was afraid of high heights, despite being a Flying-type.
Gliscor also became a scout with Staraptor as they would look for lost parties or Team Rocket. Since being left at Professor Oak's lab, Gliscor became friends with Ash's Noctowl and Leavanny, as seen in Friends, Rivals, Lend Me Your Spirit!, where they were relaxing in a tree together.

Trivia
- The Professor Oak's Big Pokémon Encyclopedia featured at the end of DP068 is about Ash's Gligar. He writes this senryū about it: 「グライガー サトシにげきとつ しあわせよ」 "Gligar happily collides with Satoshi."
- Fighting Fear with Fear!, the episode in which Gligar evolved into Gliscor, first aired in Japan on the Thursday of the same week that the dub of Riding the Winds of Change!, the episode in which Gligar is captured, first aired in the United States.
- Gliscor is Ash's first Sinnoh Pokémon to fully evolve.
- Gliscor is the only one of Ash's Pokémon:
- To have an immunity to one of its own types.
- That has evolved through the use of an item (in this case, a Razor Fang).
- To have a cross-generational Evolution take place while under his ownership.
- That was obtained outside of the original series to have been left with another Trainer for training.
- Gliscor is the first Pokémon owned by a main character to evolve depending on the time of day.
- Although Gliscor used Screech in A Breed Stampede!, it hasn't used the move since that episode.
- As confirmed in The Dream Continues!, Gliscor is the first Pokémon that Ash has previously left with another Trainer to return to his possession permanently.
