If you know what i mean...
2 or 4 in G/S/C?
This is just too confusing. This article says there are only two in G/S/C, yet each of the articles on the four from HG/SS say that all four are present in G/S/C. So are there 2 or 4 in G/S/C? --HoennMaster 02:45, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- That's stupid... Apollo and Athena both have more than one G/S/C battle, but Lambda and Lance don't. R.A. Hunter Blade 12:43, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- That's because they all had same sprites. If you read the other articles closely, you'd see that. Even if Lance's appearance is pretty unclear (because he got merged with the grunt from Slowpoke Well, which doesn't prevent him from being the same Executive from GSC). In Lambda's case, however, it's pretty obvious. He appears in the same places and same Pokémon. Even if the creators didn't intend him to look like that in Gen. II, now they do and this is canon. Really, you should stop thinking that everything that looks like a change must be a retcon. It's actually a good explanation of an ambiguous element in GSC. There was obviously three different male Executives (and one female, no problem here) with no identity and no names, who were given names and own designs in Gen. IV. If you played GSC closely and didn't just sweep them, without noticing who they are, you would see that they can't be one and the same Executive (they would have to be bilocal). The Executive situation in GSC was ambiguous enough, we didn't know who they were at all. HGSS EXPLAINED it, expanded the plot on, if you played both games closely, you'd see that NOTHING IS RETCONNED (except Lance and Slowpoke Well grunt "merged"). Also the fact that the article stated that they were two Executives was just a misconception. I simply forgot to edit this article. We should have a policy on "never believe the other article if two article contradict". I've seen really MANY instances of REAL information being "corrected" just because two articles contradicted and someone assumed that article X is right, while article Y is wrong (in fact, it was opposite). Bulbapedia should never be a source for itself. --Maxim 13:23, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Besides, who in their right mind would think there really were only two Executives in total in Generation II? If "the" male were posing as the Director and "the" female were guarding the broadcast booth, then who's in the broadcast booth running the jamming signal? By the reasoning of anyone that actually believed there were exactly two Rocket Executives in the Generation II games, there was probably only one Bug Catcher, one Youngster, one Lass, one Beauty, and so on and so forth in Generation I days...--Shiningpikablu252 14:35, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- You actually think that the kids these games are aimed for actually took time to think about that? Definitely not. --HoennMaster 18:10, 29 October 2009 (UTC)
- Stupid excuse. They might still put it on purpose, for more experienced fans to notice it. It's not that it'll confuse those "kids" after all. They didn't have to do HGSS at all. If all they care about are the kids, why don't they make something brand-new with new Pokémon that'd attract the kids more? GSC and HGSS Executives fit so well that it's practically obvious that they DID intend to make them the same characters. The games being aimed for kids don't have anything to do with this, honestly. --Maxim 20:52, 29 October 2009 (UTC)

- Looked into this a bit more, and it seems that, in English at least, they chronologically started out as Admins in the Kanto-based games, but then later became Executives by the time of the Johto-based games. Additionally, in LGPE, the class may only apply to Archer. Landfish7 19:06, 6 April 2024 (UTC)
