Pokémon world locations |
Challenger's Cave (Japanese: 修行の岩屋 Training Cavern) is a cave located in the western half of the Unova region. In Pokémon Black and White, a Black Belt appears to guard the entrance of this cave, allowing the player to pass and explore the cave if they have defeated the Elite Four and Team Plasma. It can be accessed at Route 9.
During the two-year gap between Black and White and Black 2 and White 2, the cave entrance has collapsed.
Geography
Challenger's Cave appears to be carved out of a slight hill, with each level of the cave being larger than the one above it. The cave is very dark, so Flash is required to navigate the cave easily.
The middle level resembles an inverted uppercase E with stairs leading to the upper level on the lower branch, another set of stairs leading to the lowest level in the middle branch, and a PP Up on the upper branch. Another staircase between the middle and upper branches leads to a raised platform and a bridge that can be crossed to obtain a Nugget.
An underground stream divides the lowest level into eastern and western sections with a ledge initially preventing access to most of the western section. The eastern section can be reached by crossing the stream with Surf. The eastern section is a winding path leading southwards over some bridges. A bridge running east-west allows access to the southwestern part of the cave. The southern end of the stream, blocked at the northern end by some rocks, can be accessed by surfing east of the female Veteran.
