Chatot introduces you and Wigglytuff will surprise you by immediately asking you for a name to register the team under. The default is "PokéPals". After registering, you are granted with a Pokémon Exploration Team Kit containing an Explorer Badge, Wonder Map, and Treasure Bag. The Treasure Bag allows you to carry more items and has an Aura Bow with the color you obtained in the personality test inside. The bow is supposed to boost Attack, Defense, and Special Defense by 1 each when held but because of error in the code it mistakenly raises the enemy's Special Attack by 1, effectively increasing the damage taken from special moves.

This is going to be a little harder. You need to go through 6 floors. Nothing much either about this dungeon rally, so advance to B7F. You'll find the Pearl. Now, get out of the dungeon.

Magically, you are suddenly getting thanked by Spoink in the guild. Wierd. He gives you 4 medicines: Protein, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and a whopping 2000 Poké! Your partner is like "Yay, I'm rich" when Chatot suddenly takes 90% of the money, saying this is a guild rule. So deal with it when you get to choose jobs in the future, and keep in mind you only get 10%. Whatever.

Wigglytuff's Guild

Outside

A close-up of the guild is shown. Your partner gathers up the courage and stands on the grate, where the Sentry Diglett successfully identifies your partner. However, Diglett struggles to identify your footprint before hesitantly calling out what the player is, still doubting because it's not a common footprint they see. You are afterwards allowed in.

Ground Floor

Your partner will exclaim about the hatch leading underground. You will be automatically sent to the lower floor

B1F

The place will be crowded and your partner is excited. Soon, Chatot will greet you, mistaking you for a marketer and telling you to leave. After your partner says they are here to apply for training, Chatot is a little astounded about how two young Pokémon are joining the guild, despite the rough training. Your partner questions how severe the training is and Chatot quickly changes their tune, cheerfully taking you to the lower floor to sign up.

B2F

Your partner will first be amazed by how the outside could be seen two floors underground. Chatot explains that the guild is build into the side of a cliff, and you are sent to Guildmaster Wigglytuff's room.

Wigglytuff's Chamber

You also get an item depending on whoever the quiz made you start as:

  • Power Band: Bulbasaur, Chikorita, Phanpy, Treecko
  • Special Band: Charmander, Vulpix, Skitty, Turtwig
  • Def. Scarf: Cyndaquil, Torchic, Chimchar, Riolu
  • Zinc Band: Squirtle, Pikachu, Eevee, Shinx
  • Joy Ribbon: Totodile, Mudkip, Piplup

Crew Room

Chatot shows you to your room where you will live while working for the guild. Your partner discusses the day with you before falling asleep.

Tip: You can save the game by going on your bed.

Main Room

Your fellow apprentice, Loudred, wakes you and rushes you into the main room to begin the morning salutations after claiming Guildmaster Wigglytuff has a BIG temper that's very scary to experience. After the morning meeting, Chatot will guide you upstairs to the job boards.

B2F

Chatot takes you to the job board on the left first and explains the jobs posted, while your partner remarks about the flow of time being messed up and more bad Pokémon appearing. Because of this, more jobs are being posted and Chatot mentions an outbreak of mystery dungeons that may be related. Chatot chooses a job about Spoink who lost his pearl for your team. Your partner gets aggravated taking a simple job rather than exploring new places, only to receive a scolding from Chatot. After this, you and your partner head to Drenched Bluff!

Drenched Bluff

Drenched Bluff is 7 floors. Advancing to the 7th floor will bring your team to the lost pearl and you exit the dungeon.

If you fail this mission two times, you will be given a Reviver Seed, Oran Berry and Max Elixir to help.

Pokémon

Pokémon Floors Levels Recruit Rate
Anorith (Pokémon) Anorith 1-6 3-4 8.2%
Shellos (Pokémon) Shellos
West Sea
1-6 4-5 6.4%
Lileep (Pokémon) Lileep 1-6 3-4 6.4%
Chingling (Pokémon) Chingling 3-6 4-5 8.2%
Pokémon cannot be recruited here for now, these values are for reference.

Items

This is the first proper dungeon, with more variety and randomness in items than Beach Cave. The item pools in Explorers of Sky are often an amalgamate of the item pools in Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness, but this is not always true.

There are Gummi for every starter type except Riolu (who is completely neutral for all of them) and Phanpy (who has to work with Blue and Grass Gummi). Besides this, there are some useful items here, like X-Eye Seed (which causes Cross-Eyed, severely crippling the target), Max Elixir and Apple (restoring PP and Belly of your Pokémon, important for survival in longer dungeons) or the lookalike items. They are similarly named items that have similar descriptions, but cause different things. Some, like Oren Berry are harmful, but some can be helpful, like Dough Seed.

In some dungeons, there are items that are guaranteed to spawn on a specific floor; these are marked with "Fixed spawn" in the item tables.

Wigglytuff's Guild

B1F

You return to the guild where Spoink thanks you and gives you your rewards. He gives you 4 vitamins, all which permanently boost a specific stat: Protein, Calcium, Iron, Zinc and a whopping 2000 Poké! Your partner exclaims that you're rich before Chatot suddenly takes 90% of the money, saying most of the money from jobs goes to the Guildmaster.

B2F

Chimecho calls all the guild members to dinner, then you retire to your room for the night where your partner recounts their thoughts about the day before you both fall asleep.
