This card was released as a promotional card. In Japan, it came with the Official Card File, released in June 1997. The English version of the card was one of four possible cards that one could receive by buying a ticket to the cinema showing of Mewtwo Strikes Back.
The card's Pokédex entry contradicts the Pokémon the Series episode Showdown in Dark City, as well as Pocket Monster Encyclopedia. Both state that the Electabuzz species are enraged at the color red, whereas this card's Pokédex entry states that Electabuzz likes red.

Trivia

The card's Pokédex entry contradicts the Pokémon the Series episode Showdown in Dark City, as well as Pocket Monster Encyclopedia. Both state that the Electabuzz species are enraged at the color red, whereas this card's Pokédex entry states that Electabuzz likes red.
