Purugly debuted in Double Team Turnover! during Team Galactic's stealing operation in the Celestic Town Historical Research Center. It battled Ash, Dawn, and Cynthia for the Lustrous Orb and proved itself to be very powerful.
In Steeling Peace of Mind! and Saving the World From Ruins!, Purugly was once again by Mars's side during her operation on Iron Island to scan Mt. Coronet for the location of the Spear Pillar. It battled and defeated Meowth.
In The Needs of the Three!, Purugly was used to help capture Mesprit and Uxie. Later, in The Battle Finale of Legend!, it was used to ward off Ash and his friends before being defeated by Pikachu. At the conclusion of the villainous team's plans, Team Galactic was arrested.
Pokémon Journeys: The Series
In The Arceus Chronicles (Part 2), Purugly was sent out to fight Ash and his friends. It had a brief battle with Ash's Pikachu before going up against Brock's Blissey. Purugly was unable to land a single hit before Cynthia showed up and drove them off. They were later captured and tied up by her Roserade's Power Whip.
