== Canadian Prices? ==
The Poke Diamond prices are different in Canada, and Canadian prices are not listed. Maybe this should be fixed?

Latest revision as of 08:32, 13 April 2016

Very inaccurate Poké Diamond prices have been fixed. Pikachu6780 (talk) 19:48, 15 April 2015 (UTC)

Areas

Do they need separate pages since they're divided into stages with different Pokémon in them? BlueJirachi (talk) 03:17, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

I think the areas should be fine getting their own pages. They could link to the separate stages from there without having an enormous list on this page. --Abcboy (talk) 03:23, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

Mega Evolution

In the main article here it says the player has to complete a specific challenge and be "adventurer level" 33. Is this referring to the player's Rank? If so, I was only rank 29 when I completed it. I believe you only have to be Rank 33 if you wish to attempt the challenge the day before it officially becomes available, since the "I can't wait until tomorrow" option is based on Rank. --KingStarscream (talk) 23:26, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Yeah it's the player's rank. I think that should be put in the challenge table for early bird requirement. BlueJirachi (talk) 23:31, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
I already added the column, but had no idea the challenges came anyway if you didn't "early bird" them. CycloneGU (talk) 00:59, 19 April 2015 (UTC)

Buildings Section

I've added this to the page, and moved Poké Diamonds into the area appropriately, but I wanted to discuss other possible moves.

  • "Challenges" could be added under "Castle".
  • "Areas" can be tabled in the "Balloon Stop" area and expanded to show all of the fields that can be visited with each Balloon (right now, it looks like only one to a casual viewer).

Thoughts? CycloneGU (talk) 04:04, 20 April 2015 (UTC)

Mega Evolution & Password Events

Some questions and notes. 1st: How does Mega Rayquaza work, does it have to know Dragon Ascent like in the main games to work, or is there a Meteorite or something that you can give it at the Special Stone Shop. Please note it on the article. 2nd: The Charizard from the Password can swap its stone at the Special Stone Shop freely for "0 Poké Diamonds" and I was wondering if Mewtwo and other Charizard get both stones at the same time or if you have to buy each of them separately. 3rd: The Pokémon Traits from the Passwords and the Red/Blue Outfits are all called "Gift", but I noticed that when filtering by traits that the "Gift" Trait appears multiple times and that while most are just one Pokémon per Trait, some are grouped together like the eeveelution under one "Gift" trait. Also the 2 "Gift" outfits are based on the outfits worn by hosts on Pokémon Get☆TV (I can at least confirm the red outfit, but I can't spend a lot of time searching images on google to confirme the blue one). What I'm wondering is if they have another name other than "Gift" in Japan. Finally 4th: Some of the Pokémon have "Hidden Traits", and I can confirm that Shednija has Wonder Guard and the two Primals have there Abilities in the game (I'm gussing that Mega Rayquaza has its Ability), according to Serebii Regigigas has its Slow Start Ability requiring to KO 10 Pokémon on the current floor to get Slow Start to wear off, please note the others on the article and can someone check to see if the last is true. TrainerX493 (talk) 02:25, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

I can confirm Shedinja's Wonder Guard. I was trying to figure out why I couldn't hurt Shedinja in a challenge, then realized I should use Fire.
I haven't used Mega Evolution at all as I can't be bothered with spending all my Diamonds there while I'm still doing some research here for just basic Pokémon data; I'm using them on Timing Stops and occasional stage revisits. Still sitting on 160, and might add a few as Spotpasses just came in, but I don't want to waste them until I'm done that. Hopefully someone else can confirm abilities on Mega evolution. CycloneGU (talk) 04:46, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
I know Primal Groundon has its ability, whenever water moves are used it says invalid or invulnerable. Also a Gardevour who uses Hypervoice on ghost, dragon or dark type isn't super effective, but after mega evolution they it acts like a fairy move, thus it must have pixellate. Yamitora1 (talk) 03:54, 3 May 2015 (UTC)

Events in the Japanese version

Unlike in English, where every event has the Special Trait "Gift", in Japanese they are specifically named. This makes it obvious where they will be announced. A list can be found here. It also includes the function of each one. --SnorlaxMonster 14:05, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Traits List and Moves List

As I've caught and can verify pretty much every trait in the game (except maybe one or two, who knows), I think it might be useful to make a list of the available traits. This serves as a good reference point as the data matches exactly what's found in-game when we find something with the trait in question. There's a move list somewhere over there, too, but I plan to use other data not in the list there to put it together (such as cost at the Move Tutor), so these types of lists are nothing more than reference points while compiling our own lists (partly to make sure we got everything LOL).

If these aren't done by someone else, I'll see about working on it in a sandbox and can add it once it's ready; I'm currently finishing my habitat data (offline for now; it will go on Pokémon pages once the templates are in place) and also working on screenshots for the pages. I'm also still working on getting the last items on the shopping list before returning to the beginning on my other system to put that one together. I'm at Lv.63 now and there are still a few odd items popping up in the shop (I see "Ninja" unlocking at Lv.66 under Clothing, for instance). CycloneGU (talk) 17:50, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

Image Discussion

Surveillance Dunes Rumble World.png
Surveillance Dunes boss battle Rumble World.png

With Pattyman's help, I've had some selection screen images uploaded to the Archives (I plan to grab the rest and will be trying to get a few Legendaries in them if possible). The first in place at Origin Hideaway to show how they will be incorporated, but am currently only placing them in the userspace versions (and therefore holding the pages there temporarily until I get images into the earlier areas), and I'll be adding the others over the course of the afternoon and evening to the remaining userspace pages while trying to finalize those Pokémon lists (I think I even have Legend Terrain pretty much almost done, now, in terms of listing).

I also have been entertaining the thought of posting images of boss battles and, aside from that, just gameplay in the various stages. Two examples are pictured at right.

The top image is a regular gameplay screen of Surveillance Dunes, at the Origin Hideaway set of stages. The lower image is clearly a battle between a player's Porygon2 and the same area's boss, an Exeggutor.

I personally think there can be great benefit to having pictures of all of the areas, but the usage within an article setting would probably be best served in an image gallery at the end of each area article, likely between the final table section and the other languages section (or it could come after other languages, I'm not sure the preferred order). It's extremely simple to get pictures of various boss fights - especially Legendaries - and they can even be used periodically on Pokémon pages. For instance, on the page for Gyarados, an image could be used showing a battle against it at Waterfall Basin, a picture I actually have posted on my Miiverse account and can easily be saved in Paint; that image can go there and also be included in the image gallery at the area page.

So I want to start an image discussion here. I can literally post and save any images that we may want for any of the articles. What is going to be our method of utilizing images, what should I concentrate my efforts on, and where shall they be used? CycloneGU (talk) 20:23, 29 April 2015 (UTC)

In-game screenshots are too zoomed-in to really be useful for layout sections; we don't want 20 images per area. We could use images of the traps in challenges as well as an adventurer trapped by Pokémon. glikglak 22:25, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Hmm. I think the name appears, so getting trapped adventurers might be tricky without accidentally identifying someone. I have taken pictures of adventurers following you in the stage, meanwhile. I was also planning to limit to one regular picture per stage (possibly excluding boss pictures) for the purposes of a gallery, but yeah...that's why I asked opinion. =) Cages in challenges might not be an issue, I know a couple of challenges that include them and would serve nicely for that purpose. Should be able to take a picture of the trap before being stepped in and the trap having been sprung, though in the latter case the Pokémon will be inside so it would become an image for that Pokémon category as well. Should I just torture a Pikachu? CycloneGU (talk) 23:44, 29 April 2015 (UTC)
Well, I got the trapped Mii. Joke aside, notice the name oes appear, and it continues to while still trapped. No getting rid of it, I think. So are we going to ID someone? I could always add someone here and use a stock Mii named Bulbapedia or something for a screenshot. CycloneGU (talk) 01:57, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
It's just a screenname. Every game with Spot/StreetPass tells you up-front that your screenname will be shown to others.
It'd be nice if the shop images didn't have the text obscuring most of the buildings. glikglak 00:00, 5 May 2015 (UTC)
Just not sure how they'd feel about their screenname being on Bulbapedia, hence why I suggested naming a Mii that and then someone Spotpassing that Mii.
Regarding the Diamond Digger, I asked that person in the linked post if he can retake the picture. He seemed honoured that I asked to use the image. =) I also have the Rust Removal Spot still on my Miiverse to upload, and I think both with and without text, so I can grab the right one.
Still gotta get back to you more on the cage. Since I found how to move screenshots now, I want to take it without posting on Miiverse, so I'll get the circle image on the next transfer. Then I can do the before-and-after. CycloneGU (talk) 01:05, 5 May 2015 (UTC)

Why not blank the dialog box with an image editor? Sensei Le Roof (talk) 04:10, 21 May 2015 (UTC)

As I moved this, I'll note for others that this was regarding my comment about someone's screen name eternally on Bulbapedia (though I asked someone on Miiverse for a picture of the mining building and he was elated that it was for Bulbapedia, so maybe people want that!).
In reply to your question, the screen name appears over the Mii. While the Mii is not identifiable, editing out the screen name would destroy part of the image around the Mii; it's not a white box, but a transparent surrounding that allows the image itself to show underneath. It can't be edited out. CycloneGU (talk) 05:52, 21 May 2015 (UTC)
You can just ID me. My Mii's name is just "A", and I have default messages. Use my talk page to organise the required connection. PartHunter (talk) 12:31, 28 May 2015 (UTC)

Traits and Multi-Trait Pokémon

I finally decided to start a sandbox to work on various experiments related to this and the Pokémon Shuffle project, and want to bring up the first project here.

I figure, given the large number of traits and how we have multi-trait Pokémon in the game, that we should have some kind of table to explain what everything means. While mined prefix data exists, that isn't sufficient as there are traits in that table that I have never seen used in the game. Additionally, the data does not describe the multi-trait ones at all (because their "descriptions" are just all of the traits they have and different every time); that is the purpose of this table. I'm trying to figure out if there's any difference between, for example, a "Fabulous" Pokémon and a "Super" Pokémon, who each have four unique traits but otherwise may not be different. I also want to put data for any other prefixes we might discover (though, at present, I don't see any on the passtebin file that are not already tabled with data).

I would like to invite anyone who wishes to help analyze data to join me at my sandbox and discuss whatever they are finding that might make, for instance, either "Fabulous" or "Super" more desirable than the other, or even if there's in fact no difference. I plan to put together a table describing the prefixes that will be MUCH shorter, and also a traits table with any traits that are used in the game (so far, some - like Rally, Macho, Tangling, Daring, and others - I have not seen used). If there's already a traits table for Pokémon Rumble Blast, I'll use that as well since it should be similar, but I'll trim it down and check descriptions. CycloneGU (talk) 03:41, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

I've noticed that I have only seen certain Traits past particular Adventurer Ranks (for example, I have several Pokémon with Adept, all obtained after reaching rank 40). The availability of each Trait's + variants also appears to be affected by rank, as both of my Gutsy+ Pokémon have been obtained after rank 40, while my first + trait was rank 20 and I have specifically been collecting Gutsy. PartHunter (talk) 08:48, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Damage Oddities

Damage doesn't seem to follow entirely straightforward rules. First off, star count definitely doesn't directly relate to damage. This definitely applies to attacks that can hit multiple times, where each hit will obviously do less damage than normal, but also some other moves. For example, I have a Primal Groudon with Precipice Blades (5 stars) and Fire Punch (4 stars), and Fire Punch generally seems to do more damage. I guess it's because it's easier to hit multiple things with Precipice Blades (it does damage in a large circle in front of Groudon, with the hitboxes staying there for a good amount of time, while Fire Punch is a quick hit directly in front). Second thing, Boss Pokémon appear to occasionally reduce the damage they take by about half. At first I thought this might be when they're at low health, but I've seen the reduction stop and start seemingly randomly. Thirdly, it just changes sometimes. Going back to that Groudon, I noticed specifically on some Glalie that Precipice Blades and Fire Punch both took two hits to KO them, even though Fire Punch is (usually) stronger AND super effective, meaning it should do more than twice the damage. Unless the supereffective multiplier is less than 2x and I just never really noticed until then. -- EnosShayremtalk 03:27, 4 June 2015 (UTC), and very confused at that.

When a boss Pokémon is charging its area pushback attack (the one that only ever deals a little bit of damage, pushes the Pokémon backwards, isn't a move and is common to all bosses) it temporarily causes all attacks to miss the boss Pokémon. Also, attacks that haven't been used for a while tend to deal more damage when used (for example, Iron Tail and Precipice Blades will deal the same damage against a Water-type Pokémon for a short period if Iron tail hasn't been used for a while, despite sharing the same star rating and being used by the same Pokémon (before accounting for Precipice Blades getting STAB and Iron Tail being resisted), with this soon wearing off so that Iron Tail does much less damage). It applies to both moves of a Pokémon that has just switched in, but quickly wears off. PartHunter (talk) 06:57, 4 June 2015 (UTC)

Kingdom of Toys

Seems there is a dispute regarding the in-game location and whether its a Location Name or just a description of the location. Reading what I see on the Bulbapedia description, the wording indicates that its a location name and therefore should be capitalized as all real world location names are capitalized. If it's not a location name, then it should be reworded so that isn't worded like a location name. For example, instead of saying "the kingdom of toys"... Using "the" makes it a title in this instance.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:01, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

I always thought it was considered a location. And if this isn't the name, we're considering it another nameless world. I think it's the actual name. CycloneGU (talk) 02:03, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
I agree, I always thought it was the location name and therefore capitalization is required. I chose to bring it up here instead of beginning an edit/revert war.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:04, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
You did the right thing in that regard. CycloneGU (talk) 02:07, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
gBz0wJe.png
It is not capitalized. --Abcboy (talk) 02:10, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
There you go, then. As I said, I always thought it was a proper name, but that makes it look more like a kingdom of toys, using the words literally. Makes you wonder what the name is, though. CycloneGU (talk) 02:11, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
That could also be a programming glitch in the game. It says "the" kingdom of toys. That to me, says it's the name.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:33, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
It's on the official site twice, but neither time is it capitalized. It may be the name, but it isn't capitalized. --Abcboy (talk) 02:40, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
"Explore the vast kingdom of toys" is another example of wording that doesn't surround an official name.
Ironically, it later says "Take Flight across the Kingdom!" with a capital. Either way, I'm amenable to no capitals. CycloneGU (talk) 02:43, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
I still think it's a glitch in both the game and a mistake on the official site. I think it should be capitalized but that is just my opinion. Using "the" still tells me its a location name.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:45, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)

Sorry, that makes no sense at all. That's like saying "I live in the Los Angeles", or "I live in the New York". Meanwhile, "I live in the suburbs" would not be capitalized. CycloneGU (talk) 02:49, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

It's a matter of context. You would say the before LA. and suburbs is a neighborhood term, not a location name like New York or Los Angeles. In the context of "the" kingdom of toys, it sounds like a location name to me.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:53, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Even so, it's not our role to assume intent. They use small letters everywhere. I agree with you, it sounds like a location name in every way. However, they don't treat it as one themselves. Therefore, it isn't considered a location name, and not capitalized. CycloneGU (talk) 02:54, 16 June 2015 (UTC)
Well, I did say it was my opinion in how it sounded lol
DarienLeonhart (talk) 02:56, 16 June 2015 (UTC)

"Locations in side games" section on species pages

Well, I have noticed that only some species pages actually have Rumble World on them. For example, Diancie has it, yet Arceus does not. We should probably add these. I'm posting here because I can't add 600 or possibly 700 edits alone. what should I do? TheRealArceus (talk) 20:05, 26 June 2015 (UTC)

I will answer this. The reason is because all of the other Pokémon pages are being converted, and I have data for about four different games to get around to adding to the articles. In the case of Unova, the conversions are incomplete. While I know how to do the conversions, I am not staff and I am doing my best to not jump in and just help with some of the last Unova conversions, and thus do them all at once when they are finished.
Technically, I could do Sinnoh now, but I have a little more Rumble U data to sort and have to finish the sorting of my Battle Trozei data. Once those are done, all four games (those, Shuffle, and Rumble World) will be added to all at once, and I'm going to soon start prepping the batch for Unova. The reason all of Kalos is done is because all of the Gen. VI data is complete and there was nothing to convert, so I added the layout to those personally. CycloneGU (talk) 20:23, 26 June 2015 (UTC)
Are you waiting to do these until the Shuffle page splits, or the conversion? (I really don't know about it, so I'm just wondering if you still are going to.) My need for things to be perfect is bugging me again... AmoongussForLife (talk) 00:08, 26 August 2015 (UTC)

Ⓟ increase

I have noticed that the amount of Ⓟ obtained in the game has increased after updating to 1.1. In my case, a level 5 wealthy tree, all boss values have increaed by 30% (from an overall 2X Ⓟ multiplier to an overall 2.6X Ⓟ multiplier). Using more data, we can work out if the increase is due to:

  1. An increase in the base Ⓟ drop values/multiplier.
  2. An increase in the effect of all levels of wealthy tree.
  3. A change in the calculation for the Ⓟ multiplier from adding 20% to the multiplier per level of tree to multipling the previous multiplier by 1.2 (changing from additive to multiplicitive growth).
  4. A combination of the above.

PartHunter (talk) 03:18, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

P.S. We need an easier way to add the Ⓟ symbol to pages, as I had to copy it from StreetPass to use it here. No template used there, and it's not available from the character pallette below the editing area or the special characters list in the editor (next to the help button).

Someone just needs to create for it. The template can be labeled (P) if that title isn't already used on another template.

We could also use the proper name, "PokéCoin" or something. CycloneGU (talk) 03:42, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
That's true... if the person doesn't mind holding ALT while typing 130 everytime for the é in PokéCoin. And I just finished creating the template for the PokéCoin ((P)) symbol
DarienLeonhart (talk) 03:47, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
There's "PCoin" too. I never said it had to have the accent, just throwing it out there. LOL But yes, we needed this template, too. CycloneGU (talk) 03:50, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Then I guess its a good thing I made the template LOL. I made it show the size of the symbol was increased because how PartHunter did, I thought it was just a bit small and hard to see. Template name for the symbol is (P).

I just copied it from StreetPass, and pasted it as a raw character. Also, Ⓟ is the official name of the currency (see the electronic instruction manual of the game, page 8 for proof if you need it). Also, could we please add data on the increase in the amount dropped by foes (based on the amount dropped by bosses)? PartHunter (talk) 04:01, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Now that you mention it, I did see a 70 coins on a boss...was 50 before. I don't know all the stats sadly, but I can try a fresh game on the alternate system to see perhaps. CycloneGU (talk) 23:07, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
The template got deleted because I'm not an admin nor did I have an admin's permission to make the template.
DarienLeonhart (talk) 23:09, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
I suggest create it in userspace then, for proposal. That's typically what is preferred, but I would have thought this one would have been speedily approved, myself. I wonder if there's a valid reason not to have it. CycloneGU (talk) 00:20, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

(resetting indent)

The admin who deleted the template gave no reason other than to say that I need permission from an admin. They gave no mention of userspace or any other reason.

All templates must be approved by the staff before being implemented into the wiki, regardless if the template is needed.--ForceFire 04:26, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Then here it is. I'm asking for the template to be approved/debated on. It's a very simple template that doesn't take up a lot of space and would make it easier to type the PokéCoin symbol. Agree or Disagree!? I may be wrong here but aside from myself, there are two others who think that it should be created.
BTW, DarienLeonhart, create it at User:DarienLeonhart/Template:P so they have something to debate. =) CycloneGU (talk) 15:48, 10 August 2015 (UTC)
Done, with discussion page here.

Canadian Prices?

The Poke Diamond prices are different in Canada, and Canadian prices are not listed. Maybe this should be fixed?
