It records a maximum of 10 entries sequentially, and a new entry is recorded when the game is loaded with a date different from the most recent journal entry, deleting the oldest entry if 10 already exist. The Guidebook (Japanese: ぼうけんノート Adventure Notebook), known as Journal prior to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl, is a Key Item introduced in Generation IV.
