Guy (Japanese: ガイ Guy) is a character of the day who appeared in Exploud and Clear. He was, like Ash, trying to earn eight Badges and gain entry into the Hoenn League.

In Exploud and Clear, Guy was first seen chasing down his rampaging Loudred. Once he managed to calm his Pokémon down, he and Ash decided to have a battle. Ash chose to battle Loudred with his Treecko. During the battle, both Pokémon ended up evolving. However, after Loudred's evolution into an Exploud, it stopped listening to Guy. Exploud ran off, shoving Guy aside in the process. Grovyle went on to lead the search party directly to Exploud because it was determined to finish the match.

Team Rocket took notice of the Exploud as it rested near a waterfall and tried to capture it during its continued battle with Grovyle. When Guy noticed Team Rocket, he hurled himself in front of their cork gun to prevent the projectiles from reaching Exploud. Although it took an attack from Pikachu to stop the corks entirely, Exploud noticed its Trainer's care and compassion for it and started obeying Guy. After Team Rocket was sent blasting off, Ash and Guy resumed their battle. The outcome of the match remains unknown.

Exploud is Guy's main partner and only known Pokémon; it has been his prized partner since it was just a Whismur. Whismur was seen only in flashbacks, where it was described as shy and prone to crying. After it evolved into Loudred, it became more confident and joyous. Sometime prior to Exploud and Clear, Loudred started to go wild and disobey Guy.

In battle, both Ash's Treecko and Guy's Loudred evolved into Grovyle and Exploud, respectively. After evolving, Exploud continued to disobey Guy and it was up to Ash and his friends to help Exploud bond with Guy again. Team Rocket attempted to capture Exploud twice, but both attempts were thwarted by Exploud. During the second heist, Guy leaped to Exploud's defense against the oncoming cork projectiles. Exploud smiled back at Guy, showing its friendliness towards its Trainer, and began obeying him again. After reuniting with Guy, Exploud continued its match against Ash's Grovyle, but without a clear winner.

Exploud's known moves are Stomp, Supersonic, Earthquake, and Hyper Voice.
