Trivia
- In his default outfit, Tate is one of the few sync pairs with less than seven dialogues in the Pokémon Center, with only six.
- All versions of Tate use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Liza, Emmet, and Ingo.
- Tate also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Liza in the same team.
Origin
Tate's design is based on his appearance in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. Solrock is Tate's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Solrock's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby.
Tate is not seen owning a Jirachi outside this game, though the pair may reference Tanabata, an annual celebration in Japan occurring every summer also known as the Star Festival. In the core series games, Jirachi is often distributed as an event Pokémon to celebrate Tanabata. Jirachi's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ruby.
