* Garganacl's evolutionary line was designed by [[Hitoshi Ariga]].<ref>[https://twitter.com/ariga_megamix/status/1604786117487853568 Hitoshi Ariga on Twitter]</ref>

===Origin===
===Origin===
Garganacl seems to be based on a large bipedal creature composed of {{wp|Halite|rock salt}}, its arms and legs having the layered pattern of {{wp|Stratum|strata}}. Garganacl's role as a gentle earth-based creature takes cues from Hebrew golems, and its shoulders resemble the edges of a {{wp|ziggurat}}. Its glowing eyes may be based on {{wp|Salt lamp|Himalayan salt lamps}}.
<!--Do NOT add the Super Mushroom or Minecraft as possible origins. Specific copyright characters must NOT be used. Also, the designer has already given a definite origin.-->
Looking at its name, Garganacl could also take inspiration from {{wp|Gargantúa|el Gargantúa}}, a giant creature from {{wp|Basque Country (autonomous community)|Basque Folklore}}.
Garganacl is based on {{wp|Halite|rock salt}} crystals and {{wp|Sedimentary rock|sedimentary layers}} of bedrock,<ref>[https://twitter.com/ariga_megamix/status/1605483704565895170 Hitoshi Ariga on Twitter]</ref> as evidenced by its arms and legs having the layered pattern of {{wp|Stratum|strata}}. Garganacl's physique resembles a large bipedal creature, perhaps specifically Hebrew {{wp|golem}}s given its role as a gentle earth-based creature. The structures on Garganacl's shoulders resemble a {{wp|ziggurat}} or a Canary pyramid like the {{wp|Pyramids of Güímar}}, although they could also reference how salt can form {{wp|hopper crystal}}s or pyramid crystals, which are often found in high-end brands of coarse salt. Garganacl's glowing eyes may be based on {{wp|Salt lamp|Himalayan salt lamps}}.

Garganacl being able to heal injured Pokémon with its salt may be a play on both the term "salt curing" (the word "cure" meaning to restore health, as well as to preserve food) and the idiom "[[wiktionary:rub salt in the wound|to rub salt in the wound]]", meaning to make worse an injury or ailment. It may also be inspired by historical and modern {{wp|saline (medicine)|medical uses for salt}}.

====Name origin====
====Name origin====
Garganacl may be derived from ''gargantuan'' and ''NaCl'' (chemical formula for {{wp|sodium chloride}}; table salt).
Garganacl may be a combination of ''gargantuan'' and ''NaCl'' (chemical formula for {{wp|sodium chloride}}; table salt). It may also borrow from ''tabernacle''.

Garganacl (Japanese: キョジオーン Kyojiohn) is a Rock-type Pokémon introduced in Generation IX.

It evolves from Naclstack starting at level 38. It is the final form of Nacli.

Biology

Garganacl is a large, bipedal Pokémon primarily made up of rock salt and sedimentary rock. Its head has a rugged look and two eyes shaped like right angles. Each of the eyes are orange in color with yellow squares at their centers, and they can glow an orange-red. Garganacl's shoulders comprise tall three-stepped structures made up of blocks of white rock salt, below which its arms connect to. These stepped structures completely cover Garganacl's head from the sides. A taller block of salt is also present behind Garganacl's head.

Garganacl's arms and legs are rugged and blocky, and they are similar in appearance and length, with the arms reaching close to the ground due to their location on the body. The upper limbs are dark brown at the base, while the forelimbs are decorated in stripes of lighter brown, before ending in white. Garganacl's hands have three fingers each. Garganacl's torso is really short in comparison to its limbs; it is brown and about as large as its head, with a white block of rock salt on the pelvic area that its legs connect to. Square patches of salt dot the entirety of Garganacl's body. Garganacl's salt is rich in minerals and known to have medicinal properties. Garganacl will scrape its fingertips together to share its salt with injured Pokémon, which can heal them quickly. Many Pokémon gather around Garganacl in hopes to lick up its salt.

Garganacl and its pre-evolved form, Naclstack, are the only known Pokémon capable of learning the move Salt Cure. Garganacl and its pre-evolved forms are also the only known Pokémon that can have Purifying Salt as an Ability.

Evolution

Garganacl evolves from Naclstack and is the final form of Nacli.

Trivia

Origin

Garganacl is based on rock salt crystals and sedimentary layers of bedrock,[2] as evidenced by its arms and legs having the layered pattern of strata. Garganacl's physique resembles a large bipedal creature, perhaps specifically Hebrew golems given its role as a gentle earth-based creature. The structures on Garganacl's shoulders resemble a ziggurat or a Canary pyramid like the Pyramids of Güímar, although they could also reference how salt can form hopper crystals or pyramid crystals, which are often found in high-end brands of coarse salt. Garganacl's glowing eyes may be based on Himalayan salt lamps.

Garganacl being able to heal injured Pokémon with its salt may be a play on both the term "salt curing" (the word "cure" meaning to restore health, as well as to preserve food) and the idiom "to rub salt in the wound", meaning to make worse an injury or ailment. It may also be inspired by historical and modern medical uses for salt.

Name origin

Garganacl may be a combination of gargantuan and NaCl (chemical formula for sodium chloride; table salt). It may also borrow from tabernacle.

Kyojiohn may be a combination of 巨人 kyojin (giant), 塩 shio (salt), and geo- (prefix for earth).
