Toxic Chain (Japanese: どくのくさり Toxic Chain) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of the Loyal Three.

Effect

In battle

If a Pokémon with this Ability uses a move that does not target the user, there is a 30% chance the target will become badly poisoned. Toxic Chain's chances also apply independently for each hit of a multistrike move. If this Ability triggers when using the move Knock Off on a target with a Lum or Pecha Berry, the Berry will be consumed to cure the poisoning instead of being removed by Knock Off's effect.

Outside of battle

Toxic Chain has no effect outside of battle.
