Toxic Chain (Japanese: どくのくさり Toxic Chain) is an Ability introduced in Generation IX. It is the signature Ability of the Loyal Three.
Effect
In battle
If a Pokémon with this Ability uses a move that does not target the user, there is a 30% chance the target will become badly poisoned. Toxic Chain's chances also apply independently for each hit of a multistrike move. If this Ability triggers when using the move Knock Off on a target with a Lum or Pecha Berry, the Berry will be consumed to cure the poisoning instead of being removed by Knock Off's effect.[1]
Outside of battle
Toxic Chain has no effect outside of battle.
