You seem to be involved in an edit war on the Basculin page with TurtwigFan4848, if someone keeps making edits and someone keeps reverting them, this is what we consider an edit war. If this happens, we prefer members to use the talk pages to explain any reasoning in why they think an edit is or isn't needed. Anyone who continues to edit war may face a short block so please keep this in mind.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)

Long edit summaries
Just wanted to let you know that a lot of your edit summaries are too long and are getting cut off. There are a maximum of 500 characters in an edit summary. On desktop, the interface will actually prevent you from entering an edit summary longer than this, but it appears that on mobile the site just lets you write as much as you want, but deletes any text over the limit.

I would recommend avoiding quoting sentences from the article in your edit summaries, as that is likely to go over the limit. And if you do think it's necessary to write a lot in an edit summary, you would be better served using the talk page and linking to the appropriate talk page section in your edit summary. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 03:11, 5 January 2024 (UTC)

Page Block
You have been blocked from editing the Basculin page for a week. While you did use the talk page which is the correct way to debate edits, this was only after engaging in an edit war. If an edit is undone / re-added twice, then it should be taken to the talk page at that point. Re-adding / removing the same content from a page can prolong an edit war and be counterproductive to the conduct of the wiki. In the future, if you think something does or does not belong on a page but the other user(s) are also adding or removing the same stuff, take it to a talk page or let one of the site admins know so we can look into the issue. Hi, I did not only use the Talk page after the edit war. I used it before making an edit at all. And I did not continue editing when an actual discussion finally started on the talk page. And I did let an admin know, I was told admins were aware and simply told to “not worry about it” so I was not sure what I could or couldn’t do after that. I did get impatient though and that’s my fault, I just think the instructions could have been clearer. But I shall keep that all in mind in the future. == Type trivia ==

Hey there, noticed that you've added the Flamigo trivia multiple times only for it to be removed. The reason for me removing it this time is because there's only been three Fighting/Flying types, so it is too small of a group for that sort of trivia. Take for example Skorupi, it has a similar trivia about its type but it is notable because it is one out of thirteen. You've also added one for Tatsugiri which is one out of a group of five, so that one I'm fine with (but others may not see that as a large enough group).--<span style="color:#F34134">F</span><span style="color:#F7837B">orce</span><span style="color:#8334B7">F</span><span style="color:#AE7BD0">ire</span> 17:04, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

I disagree that 3 is too small of a group for that to be noteworthy. The trivia point is unique and factual. A unique type order should be treated no differently than a unique type/egg group combos: added if it’s true, and removed once it’s no longer accurate.

I think that’s beside the point though: even if 3 is too small in general, something like Flamigo should be an exception. We have only a handful of primary Flying types and all of them are noteworthy for having the type orders that they have. :Putting a limit on how big of a group something needs to be notable helps prevents the trivia section from being bloated. If we're going to say 1 out of 2 or 1 out of 3 is notable, then the trivia section is going to overrun by what many would consider minor trivia.--<span style="color:#F34134">F</span><span style="color:#F7837B">orce</span><span style="color:#8334B7">F</span><span style="color:#AE7BD0">ire</span> 17:30, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

That’s not going to bloat any trivia section, seems like the policy is just designed so that the few can decide what everyone else sees as interesting and noteworthy. The type order of Pokémon is reflected in its deisgn and themes; if the type order is unique, it’s noteworthy. And minor trivia is still trivia, the section heading makes no distinction.
And my second point stands regardless. Veledwin (talk) 17:55, 12 January 2025 (UTC)

Hi there

Hey! Thanks for contributing to the Tatusgiri page! Just thought I'd let you know that you can use the Preview button (next to the Save button) to preview your edits before saving, so that you can publish them all in one go. It really helps limit the number of edits and makes it easier to track page histories while also reducing stress on the server. Give it a try! Landfish7 23:28, 17 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi just wanted to circle back on the message I left you a few days ago. Have you tried my advice? It really does help us out a lot, such as with preventing the Recent Changes log from getting clogged up. If you have any questions, consider asking a staff member. They're here to help! Landfish7 11:11, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
It comes to my attention you tend to edit on mobile. The mobile site automatically brings up a preview, and you can press the back button on the top left to go back and make more changes. Hope this helps! Landfish7 11:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
Hello! Sorry, I just saw these messages now. I will take your advice about the preview feature, thank you. I do know how to use it but I did not know that it was important for me to minimize the edit quantities, so I will endeavor to do so now. Veledwin (talk) 13:27, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply
No worries. Thanks for responding! Landfish7 14:17, 20 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

The Preview Button

Instead of editing a page several times in a row, try using the preview button to make sure your edit looks the way you want it to. It's right next to the Save Page button. Please try it out, so as not to clog up the Recent Changes. Also, if you want to edit multiple sections of the page, make sure that you click "edit this page" at the top of the page rather than editing it by section. Thanks! --ForceFire 05:53, 7 June 2023 (UTC)Reply

Basculin

You seem to be involved in an edit war on the Basculin page with TurtwigFan4848, if someone keeps making edits and someone keeps reverting them, this is what we consider an edit war. If this happens, we prefer members to use the talk pages to explain any reasoning in why they think an edit is or isn't needed. Anyone who continues to edit war may face a short block so please keep this in mind.--BigDocFan, Junior Admin Bulbapedia (talk) 19:08, 4 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
