Exciting Treasure Hunt artwork by Hanenbo[5] |
Trivia
- Gardenia's black undershirt is slightly lengthened from its original core series design to cover more of her torso. This change has carried over to the core series, as seen in Gardenia's official artwork and in-game model in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl.
- In Pokémon Platinum, Gardenia expresses worry if there was ever a Grass- and Ghost-type Pokémon. She attempts to overcome her fear during the Exciting Treasure Hunt story event and is seen owning a Dhelmise, a dual-type Ghost/Grass Pokémon.
- All versions of Gardenia use special voice-over lines upon entering a team that contains certain Trainers (regardless of their partner Pokémon). Those Trainers include Candice, Maylene, and Fantina.
- Gardenia also uses special voice-over lines upon winning a battle with Candice on the same team.
Origin
Gardenia's design is based on her appearance in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Roserade is Gardenia's signature Pokémon in the core series games. Roserade's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Black 2 and White 2.
Gardenia is not seen owning a Dhelmise outside this game. Dhelmise's Dex entry comes from Pokémon Ultra Sun.
