In the anime Mokke, in episode 12, there were a bunch of spirits trying to stop people from crossing a bridge who strongly resembled Exeggcute. They apparently came from a batch of Hina dolls who'd been abandoned there. It might be that Exeggcute is based on something in Japanese mythology, but I don't know what it's called.

Evolution

In the Special Abilities section of this article, it mentions that an Exeggcute can evolve without a Leaf Stone if one of the "eggs" separates from the pack and then rejoins. When has this ever occurred? -- Zedd 20:07, 11 July 2008 (UTC)

In Pikachu's Rescue Adventure, referenced in the anime section of this article. -- Ettina 2:09PM, March 27, 2009
Actually, there was a Leaf Stone used during that evolution (the Exeggcute were dancing around it in joy). However, in The March of the Exeggutor Squad, Melvin's Exeggcute evolves into an Exeggutor without the use of a Leaf Stone. -- Aria 05:08, 17 February 2017 (UTC)

TM21: Mega Drain

According to this page, Exeggcute can learn Mega Drain via TM21 in generation 1. However, in Red my Exeggcute cannot do so. Anyone have any insight into this?

It's probably a mistake here, and it does not learn Mega Drain by TM then. Other sites agree with you. — Laoris (Blah) 16:42, 8 January 2009 (UTC)

Inspiration for Exeggcute

In the anime Mokke, in episode 12, there were a bunch of spirits trying to stop people from crossing a bridge who strongly resembled Exeggcute. They apparently came from a batch of Hina dolls who'd been abandoned there. It might be that Exeggcute is based on something in Japanese mythology, but I don't know what it's called. Ehm, does Exeggcute has the same backsprite in both GSC and RSEFRLG?

Exeggcute is found in the Berry Forest

Right I just noticed that someone forgot to add the link to the Berry Forest in the Game locations for Exeggcute, so I added it so that Exeggcute's FireRed/LeafGreen Game locations are more accurate.

Are they eggs or seeds? Trivia

Someone should put in the Trivia that many of Exeggcute's Pokédex entries clash on whether they're seeds or eggs. -- MrSpheal 16:26, 20 January, 2015 (UTC)

Where? I don't see any entry clashing with the notion that Exeggcute resemble eggs. The species, the Japanese name, the English name, the very same entries infer that these are eggs. A comparison to seeds does not make it resemble plant seeds. Masatoshi talk 21:33, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
