Physiology
Regirock is a large golem-like Pokémon made of brown and orange rocks. It has a pattern of seven orange dots on its face that resembles a capital letter "H". It has long arms with jutting shoulders and club-like hands without fingers. There is a line of orange rocky spines running down its back, and its legs are short in comparison to its body. When it gets damaged in battle, it will search for new rocks to repair itself. Because of this, the rocks it is made of come from several different places around the world, which contributes to Regirock's patchwork appearance. Recently, cutting-edge technology has found that Regirock is entirely made of stone and rock, as it does not seem to have a heart or brain. According to legend, Regirock was created by Regigigas. It generally lives in List of Pokémon by habitat or ruins, where it was sealed away years ago by ancient people.
Regirock is a large golem made of rocks. Regirock has a braille pattern on its face that resembles a capital letter "H". An interesting thing about Regirock is that the rocks it is made of come from several different places. The reason for this is that whenever it gets damaged in battle, it searches for rocks to repair itself with. This habit also contributes to Regirock's patchwork appearance. What is even stranger is that Regirock has no internal organs.

Gender differences
Game data
Regirock is genderless.
NPC appearances
Special abilities
* Mystery Dungeon: Explorers of Time and Explorers of Darkness: Regirock is the boss of Rock Chamber in Aegis Cave.
Regirock mostly knows Rock, Ground and Fighting-type attacks. For some odd reason, Regirock can learn Electrical attacks, more specifically the move Zap Cannon that it learns naturally. If Regirock is damaged, it can repair itself by building its body with rocks.

Regirock debuted in The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon XIV, when Sidney attempted to open the Desert Ruins. Together, Steven and Sapphire created a team consisting of four Beldum and Sapphire's Sapphire (Adventures) and Sapphire (Adventures), thus opening up the chamber containing Regirock, as well as the other two giants, Registeel and Regice. Regirock used Superpower to stop Groudon and Kyogre from spreading destruction. After the battle, it and the other two giants—left weak and powerless—traveled to the mountains, where they were later caught by Brandon shortly before the opening ceremony of the Battle Frontier.

Regirock (Japanese: レジロック Regirock) is a Rock-type Legendary Pokémon introduced in Generation III.

It is not known to evolve into or from any other Pokémon.

It is a member of the legendary giants along with Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, and Regidrago.

Biology

It generally lives in caves or ruins, where it was sealed away years ago by ancient people.

Ruby Regirock was sealed away by people long ago. If this Pokémon's body is damaged in battle, it is said to seek out suitable rocks on its own to repair itself.

Regirock made its main series debut in Battling the Enemy Within!, under the ownership of Brandon. He used his Regirock to battle Ash when he was being possessed by the King of Pokélantis, and it was able to defeat Sceptile. It reappeared in Pace - The Final Frontier!, and was brought to Sinnoh in A Pyramiding Rage! and Pillars of Friendship!.

Pokémon Adventures

Main article: Brandon's Regirock

Regirock debuted in The Beginning of the End with Kyogre & Groudon XIV, when Sidney attempted to open the Desert Ruins. Together, Steven and Sapphire created a team consisting of four Beldum and Sapphire's Relicanth and Wailord, thus opening up the chamber containing Regirock, as well as the other two giants, Registeel and Regice. Regirock used Superpower to stop Groudon and Kyogre from spreading destruction. After the battle, it and the other two giants—left weak and powerless—traveled to the mountains, where they were later caught by Brandon shortly before the opening ceremony of the Battle Frontier.

Regirock was Brandon's first Pokémon during his battle with Emerald, where it found Sceptile's Leech Seed attack to be of minor annoyance and knocked it out right away with its Explosion attack. However, while the Pyramid King's attention was focused on Jirachi's light coming from the horizon, Emerald was able to revitalize the fainted Sceptile with a Revive and win the battle.

Pokémon Diamond and Pearl Adventure!

Candice owns a Regirock, along with the other two Legendary giants. She uses them against Hareta to test his worthiness to challenge Regigigas in A Novel Test!!.

Trivia

 • In the international versions of Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald, there is an unobtainable Regirock Doll programmed into the game. It was unlockable with the Japan-exclusive Regi-Dolls Decoration set e-Reader card.
 • Regirock's in-game footprint resembles a Scarabaeus sacer, a real-life insect that was considered sacred by ancient Egyptians.
 • Regirock's base Attack and Special Attack, as well as Defense and Special Defense, are reverse of Regice's.
 • Regirock is the first Legendary Pokémon to have been featured as a caught Pokémon in the anime.

Origin

Regirock may be based on the golems of Hebrew legend. The legends cast them as servants of higher powers and are said to have writing on their heads. When the writing is removed, the creature would be weakened, or even killed in some legends. Regirock's face that consists of seven dots may be based on Braille alphabet which was necessary to use to encounter the legendary giants for the first time in Sealed Chamber.

The five legendary giants may be collectively themed after historical epochs, with Regirock representing the Stone Age.

Name origin

Regirock may be a combination of regis (Latin for royal) and rock.
