I've always assumed that dunsparce's name also came from the word dunce, because it's such a dumb concept for a pokemon. It also makes sense because it's German name comes from the German word for dumb (''dumm''). Maybe that should be added? == Hornworm Inspiration? ==

Given the rings around its eyes that resemble eyespots seen on some caterpillars, I wonder if Dunsparce may have been inspired somewhat by hornworms (sphinx moth caterpillars)? Some alleged sightings of the "Tsuchinoko" have actually been hornworms. EDIT: I went ahead and added my hornworm theory to Dunsparce's origin section. Does anyone have any objections? {{unsigned|Icycatelf}}

==Dunsparce's name==
I'm more concerned that the person who added the german name seems to think Messel is "chisel" for some reason, when it's clearly a reference to the Messel Pit, one of the only places on Earth you can find Snake fossils.--[[User:Nintenfreak|Nintenfreak]] ([[User talk:Nintenfreak|talk]]) 02:54, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

dunsparce's eyes

is there any source to the part in the description where it mentions that is eyes are closed? I always just assumed they looked like that when open since they are never seen both opening and closing in any media I am aware of - unsigned comment from Wateryice (talkcontribs)

Dunsparce's Name

I've always assumed that dunsparce's name also came from the word dunce, because it's such a dumb concept for a pokemon. It also makes sense because it's German name comes from the German word for dumb (dumm). Maybe that should be added? Alpha starborne (talk) 01:49, 4 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Hornworm Inspiration?

Given the rings around its eyes that resemble eyespots seen on some caterpillars, I wonder if Dunsparce may have been inspired somewhat by hornworms (sphinx moth caterpillars)?
