Trivia
Before the official announcement of Latios name, many people believed it was called Lush, and speculation was rife that it was either related to Lugia or Togepi/Togetic.
Origin
Latios is based on a dragon, althought the pair may also draw inspiration from the philosophy of Yin/Yang and psychology of id/ego.
Name origin
It is possible that Latios's name is based on the Latin word lateo, hidden. The -os suffix in its name indicates that it is male, while the -as in Latias indicates that it is female.
