An item maniac is a person in the Pokémon games who will purchase a certain type of item from the player. These items may or may not be sellable to a [[Poké Mart]], but it can be benificial to instead give such a [[Valuable item|rare item]] to a maniac due to the fact that the player can usually collect more value for the item than a Poké Mart can afford.
