Can't Beat the Heat! (Japanese: ライバルたいけつ！カメックスVSリザードン!! Rival Confrontation! Kamex VS Lizardon!) is episode 270 of the Pokémon anime. It was first broadcast in Japan on October 17, 2002 and in the United States on September 27, 2003.
As Ash and Gary continue their battle, Gary soon gains the upper hand.
Synopsis
Picking up right where The Ties That Bind left off, we find that Ash's Heracross wasn't able to withstand Hydro Pump, and was knocked out.
Ash sends out Muk to battle. Blastoise uses Skull Bash, but Muk isn't harmed by physical attacks to a great degree. Muk uses a Sludge Bomb and manages to trap Blastoise, until Blastoise uses Rapid Spin to escape and then damages Muk with another Hydro Pump. Ash calls Muk back, unwilling to lose another Pokemon.
Ash then calls out Bayleef, hoping that a Template:Type2 would be a good advantage against Blastoise. Bayleef uses a Razor Leaf followed by Vine Whip, but Blastoise easily evades with Rapid Spin. Blastoise then bites Bayleef's leaf and sends it flying against the wall, knocking it out!
Since Ash has now lost three Pokemon, the referee calls for a 5-minute intermission.
