Tyrogue are medium-sized Pokémon that resemble humans in general shape. However, he is predominantly purple in color with a brown bottom and feet which resemble short pants and shoes. There are white lines on his torso which resemble bandages. He also has these bandages on his wrists. He has three spikes on top of his head which resembles a crest, yellow irises, and circular sections on the sides of his head like protective padding.
Gender differences
Tyrogue is a male-only species with no female counterpart.
Special abilities
While he is a Fighting-type Pokémon, Tyrogue's fighting skills are somewhat limited as it is. He has not developed his own fighting style just yet. However, if a particular Tyrogue has his later evolutions for fathers, he possesses the remarkable ability to possess several moves that are otherwise exclusive to his later evolutions.
Behavior
Tyrogue are famous for their eagerness to compete and fight, to such an extent that he will challenge anyone, even larger foes. He always nurses his injuries from challenging larger foes, and, due to fighting opponents larger than himself, is constantly covered with cuts and bruises. As Tyrogue becomes stressed if he is not able to train every day, a Trainer of a Tyrogue must maintain a regular training schedule. No matter how much a Tyrogue loses, he will not quit and will keep on fighting.
Tyrogue's first appearance was in A Tyrogue Full of Trouble. He had been abandoned by his previous Trainer and left to fend for his own. Because of this, he developed a hatred towards humans. Tyrogue ended up forming a gang of Mankey and Primeape and together they would steal from weary travelers, such as Ash and his friends. But thanks to a Black Belt named Kiyo, who had been pursuing him, Tyrogue reformed a trust with humans and ended up becoming his newest Pokémon.
In Volume 14, Bruno was seen with a Tyrogue on his team.
In Volume 35, Platinum's butler, Sebastian, is shown in possession of multiple Tyrogue that he used to corner Diamond when he mistook him for an intruder.
One of Red's main Pokémon in the Pokémon Pocket Monsters manga and its sequels is a Tyrogue. Tyrogue is one of the only serious Pokémon in Isamu's party, often getting into fights with Clefairy. He was later released in the Pocket Monsters HGSS manga.

Tyrogue is one of two baby Pokémon that evolves at a specific level that does not evolve at level 30, the other being Wynaut.
Tyrogue is the only baby Pokémon that cannot get STAB on any moves it learns through leveling up
In terms of breeding, Tyrogue can only be obtained by the use of a Ditto, as his family has no female counterpart. Therefore, he is only able to obtain Egg moves from his final evolutionary stages.
In Generation III, Tyrogue was able to have Helping Hand as an Egg move, but none of his evolutions learned the move. However, this was addressed in Pokémon XD when purifying the ShadowHitmonchan would result in him learning Helping Hand, and thus allowing him to pass the move to a Tyrogue. He shares this trait with Slugma, who was unable to legally obtain his Egg move Heat Wave until a ShadowMagcargo in Pokémon XD learned the move when purified.
Since in Generation IV, however, Tyrogue gained Helping Hand via leveling up.
If a Tyrogue is hacked into Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen before the National Pokédex is obtained, he will be able to evolve into Hitmonlee or Hitmonchan, but due to FireRed and LeafGreen preventing evolution into non-Generation I Pokémon, he will be unable to evolve into Hitmontop.
Tyrogue is the only Pokémon to have its evolution decided via stats.
While Hitmontop shared the AbilitySteadfast with Tyrogue; however, Tyrogue is unable to retain this Ability after evolving. This is due to the fact Tyrogue's Steadfast is his second Ability, while Hitmontop's Steadfast is his Hidden Ability.
Tyrogue has the lowest base stat total of all Fighting-type Pokémon.
Origin
He draws inspiration, especially in his most recent artwork, from wrestlers. The designs on Tyrogue's body resemble the uniform of most Scholastic Wrestling teams—possibly showing his maturity as a fighter (a younger creature, while his evolutions seem more professional).
Name origin
Tyrogue is a combination of tyro (a beginner) or tyke (child) and rogue (one who is playfully mischievous). Ty may also be referring to Mike Tyson.
Balkie may be a corruption of bulky, an adjective describing something large for its weight.
