According to Google Maps, there appear to be a couple of small, forested islands off of the coast of Guyana. Could it be reasoned that one of these could be a RL counterpart to Faraway Island? Morgil27 (talk) 02:43, 7 September 2012 (UTC)

This article says that Guyana is never mentioned in Mewtwo Strikes Back (nor in the short), in which case this article shouldn't imply it was. (Our M01 and Mewtwo articles do just say "Guyana", though, but I tend to believe they're just assuming, and this article is more accurate.) So, assuming Guyana isn't actually mentioned, what remains is just the Pokémon Mansion journals, which I believe is hardly enough for an article (but good for the mention here). Then, I'd say we should delete this article, and remove references to Guyana from the above mentioned articles and the template (and de-link it in the few other places we mention it). Faraway Island

I wouldn't connect Faraway Island to the anime-only statement that Mew's remnants were found in Guyana. Anime =/= Games. There's no proof that Faraway Island is in Guyana or anywhere near. --Maxim 08:33, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's copied from the Faraway Island article. XVuvuzela2010X 15:53, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
And its not anime only. Both Faraway Island and the Cinnabar Journals are from the games, and they state that Mew was found in Guyana. XVuvuzela2010X 15:59, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Okay, then let's reverse it. What's the proof that the place from the anime is Guyana? --Maxim 16:09, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
It isnt mentioned (I think), though I don't feel it needs to be explicitly stated, seeing as it is blatantly obvious. XVuvuzela2010X 16:21, 26 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Real-World Counterpart

According to Google Maps, there appear to be a couple of small, forested islands off of the coast of Guyana. Could it be reasoned that one of these could be a RL counterpart to Faraway Island? Morgil27 (talk) 02:43, 7 September 2012 (UTC)Reply
