(Japanese: バージル Virgil) is a recurring character who debuted in BW102 and a rival of Ash Ketchum. He is a rescue worker, a job which he carries out together with his father Jeff and his older brother Davey.
History
As a young man, Virgil got lost in a forest with his first Eevee. The Eevee evolved into an Umbreon to help him out of the forest. From that point on, Virgil had gained a greater relationship between him and the Eevee species, training and evolving those that he was acquiring.
He finds Ash, Iris and Cilan during their trajectory to Higaki City, where Ash was currently going to participate in the Pokémon League tournament. After becoming friends with them, Ash and Virgil work together to solve a problem involving a reservoir taken over by wild Cryogonal. Later, Virgil reveals that he intends to enter the Unova League, making him another one of Ash's rivals.
He reappeared in BW103 to take part in the Higaki Conference. There, he met up with Ash, his friends and all of Ash's other rivals in Unova. In the first round he used his Vaporeon to battle against Ultimo and his Crustle. The battle continued in BW104 and he won, allowing him to move onto the next round. In BW105 he was revealed to have made it through the second round and he was shown defeating a Reuniclus with his {{p|Glaceon]] in the third round, getting Virgil to the last 16 Trainers. In BW106, his Umbreon defeated Flora's Gothitelle in the fourth round, gaining Virgil a place in the quarter-finals. There, he is set to battle Imotarō.
Character
Due to one of his Eevee evolving into Umbreon to help him out of a dark forest, Virgil has been very grateful towards it and caught more Eevee to complete his collection on Eeveelutions, giving him the status as an Eevee Trainer.
